Copernicus International Consulting Ltd is a strategic planning consultancy which takes a structured, targeted approach to the creation and organisation of international trade missions to markets where we have physical representation around the world. The unique structure of Copernicus International enables us to promote our client’s engagement with a specific market sector at a time when business owners and leaders are reluctant to allocate space in busy schedules to such events, and in a manner appropriate to match the goals of each individual mission. Copernicus is a commercial organisation. As such we recognise the necessity for an organising body to deliver a clear return on the investment they make when bringing a trade mission in to the demanding UK market. In order to ensure the success of your trade mission a dedicated senior consultant with experience in your market sector will be tasked to lead the project and to deliver the quality and quantity of opportunities that are agreed at the brief acceptance stage.

Trade Mission Services
The Copernicus trade mission services were conceived to address the specific challenges facing business owners wherever they are based in the world when they are looking to expand in to new markets
Travel to a plan Know who you are meeting Know why they want to meet you Have a pre-prepared profile of the business Meet like minded business people Understand how the opportunity fits with your strategy The scope of potential partner activities The scale of potential partner activities The potential barriers to striking a deal The local competition benchmarked Guest speakers—industry experts or celebrity A time sensitive programme The opportunity to explore the wider UK Enjoy the event and profit from it
To offer the above was not enough. A trade mission is measured by the value of profitable business opportunities that come to fruition for the delegates. The
Copernicus trade mission process offers a deliverable plan, milestones and a timeline to achieve pre-agreed objectives.
The pre-agreed objectives range from value of quotations, actual sales, partnership agreements, joint ventures or even acquisitions.
Every delegate is offered the opportunity to utilise the Copernicus UK consultant network to assist them to follow up and close deals after returning to their country of origin.
The Copernicus team are dedicated to providing our Clients with business enhancement methodologies that guide them to outstanding success. Adding the skill sets and knowledge required to make international business possible. Commissioning bodies and delegates will not only be able calculate the return on investment with Copernicus, but will also gain from the added value and insights that working with a highly focussed UK commercial team will have brought to their business.

Chambers of Commerce Copernicus are members of multiple chambers of commerce. We are active in their events and undertake projects as an approved consultancy on behalf of several. This allows us access to chamber databases and the ability to match chamber members to the profile of the ideal partner as per the brief from the individual delegates Industry Trade Bodies By working closely with the bodies representing each individual industry at local and national level we are able to introduce the profile of delegates directly to association members, highlighting the strength of the opportunity and the benefit of attending mission events. Financial Institutions Our contacts throughout primary and secondary financial bodies include the clearing banks, venture capitalists, alternate lending institutions and finance brokers. It is in their interests to promote opportunities to their clients, but they are only aware of such opportunities if they know of them, and that’s where we come in….. Inward Investment Organisations Every significant region has an active inward investment agency with a mandate to encourage direct foreign investment and benefit from increased prosperity including job creation. Trade missions are seen as the beginning of such potential collaborations. The challenge is to make all the diverse organisations that can potentially provide quality delegates to buy in to the mission. Working locally across the UK Copernicus has the network to gain just such a buy-in. International Trade Organisations Working for and on behalf of bodies such as UKTI has enabled Copernicus to build a multi-level contact network that allows us to have access to the vast majority of UK companies that have expressed a desire to be involved in international trade. It is then part of our methodology to introduce that network to you and your trade missions Multi Media PR In addition to the direct network approaches described above Copernicus will also devise and manage a campaign to increase general awareness in the business community to create increased interest in the mission. This may include business press, radio, social media, direct mail, on and off-line press releases, interviews with trade publications and of course the mission launch event.

Itech was established in 1995 and is a specialist construction consultancy working with Offsite
and MMC technologies. Operating throughout the whole construction supply chain, they
identify for manufacturing clients the most cost effective ways to make, and construction
clients to incorporate, new and innovative forms of technology to construction projects
Early in 2012, the company identified that between 30 and 40% of the hits on their website
were from overseas, and although they had previously worked successfully with overseas
clients, they had never actively promoted ourselves into these markets.
As a relatively small organisation, Itech had limited language skills, so decided to concentrate
efforts in countries where English was the main business language. To date, Copernicus have
helped facilitate visits to India, Canada, Portugal, Dubai and Australia, which between them
have helped the company secure over £100,000 worth of additional business.
The Australian visit, for example, began in Sydney, where Copernicus facilitated a number of
briefings and networking events. Representatives from Australian business, government bod-
ies and the media had been invited to attend and meet with various potential UK partners,
but there was also sufficient time to allow for individual meetings, which could be arranged
by Copernicus or companies themselves. It was during this time that Itech established contact
with the organisation who has subsequently become a client. The organisation (who cannot
be named at the moment for reasons of confidentiality), are in the process of developing a
new modular building system for the Australian market, had had identified the need for de-
tailed information about how this type of technology was being applied in the UK, where it
had much more history and also potential supply partners.
The result of this meeting and subsequent conversations, was a substantial order, which in-
cluded a Copernicus hosted investigative visit by the client to the UK.
Next is a first foray into the North American market where Copernicus will facilitate meetings
and presentation in New York, which in itself is enabling a side visit to the Greenbuild exhibi-
tion in Chicago, where the business hopes to spread the word even wider afield, that UK com-
panies have the experience, expertise and skill set to work beyond the confines of the EU.
Case Study

Case Studies
Success South Asia was a project undertaken on behalf of UKTI North West to increase market awareness and create opportunities for qualifying SME’s in Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka

Citrus Fruit Growers Association were looking for increased penetration of the Scandinavian markets. Copernicus organised a series of events across 5 markets. Potential buyers were identified against a pre-agreed brief, contacted and brought to the events which covered 4 countries in 4 days. Furniture manufacturers trade delegation visited the USA on a 5 day trip. Copernicus organised company visits against a pre-agreed brief, events including speakers covering topics such as taxation, company formation, import tariffs and logistics. Leather Goods Producers Trade Association visited the UK to meet with potential buyers, joint ventures and trading partners as part of a week long mission.
