MPM (B.Pharm + M.B.A .) Syllabus (Integrated Course)

1.1 Objective: To create technologists and engineers from all branches ready with management skills

To ensure that the graduating students are ‘industry ready’ with managerial skills

To inspire students to start and run own ventures in their basic field of study with good

business skills &knowledge

1.2 Degree Awarded

This course is five and half year course integrated management course with undergraduate

course in Pharmacy with a six month internship leading to Bachelor’s Degree Pharmacy

after successful completion of 4 years (8 semesters). For Master of Management, i.e for

Master of Pharmacy Management(MPM) , on successful completion of, bachelor degree

in Pharmacy.

Credits in management subjects in semester 3 to 8 for Pharmacy along with bachelor

degree curriculum.

Credits at 9th and 10th semester for Pharmacy and completion of 6 month project work

/internship in the Pharmacy discipline in 11th semester.

Project work

There shall be not more than six submissions of Project in one academic year under each

fulltime recognized PG guide by NMU . Fulltime recognized PG Teacher/Guide from

other institute in same university jurisdiction shall submit not more than two dissertations

in a one academic year. If the subject of project entails collaboration with other

departments or specialties, the collaborative portion of the work will be supervised by Co-

Guide, designated by the Principal of the College/Institute in consultation with the Guide.

Where a Co-Guide is involved, the Project will be certified jointly by the Guide & Co-

guide. The Guide or any other Recognized Post-graduate teacher in the subject (Internal

Examiner) and an External

Examiner appointed by the University will examine the Project . The Examiners will

jointly assign the marks for dissertation out of 300 (including viva-voce of 100 marks).

The allotment of marks of the dissertation shall be as under.

1.3 Duration:

The course shall be of a total period of 5 ½ years including ten semesters of curriculum

Followed by one semester of industry internship for Pharmacy.

1. 4 Entry qualifications / Eligibility: Entry level qualifications shall be same as prescribed for admission to bachelor degree

courses in Pharmacy.

1.5 Eligibility Criteria for Admission in fifth year.

Student has to complete minimum 16 Credits of Master of Pharmacy Management related subjects during semester 3 to semester 8 for admission to fifth year of master of Pharmacy management course.

Credits related to Master of Pharmacy Management subjects shall not be counted for deciding eligibility criterion for regular bachelor degree from 2nd year to 4th year.

1.6 Course Structure

Semester –I and II as per existing B.Pharm structure 2012-13(CGPA)

Semester-III to Semester –VIII as per the existing B.Pharm. structure 2012-13 (CGPA)

and one additional management subject in each semester.

1.7 Evaluation. Continuous assessment based on internal evaluation. Internal evaluation shall be based

minimum one internal/Sessional Examination, Class assignments, group discussions and

semester attendance.

End Semester examination.

1.8 Sanctioned Intake and admission AICTE approved Institutes where at least one batch has passed out shall be eligible to

apply for approval of this course.

Institute can apply for only one division of 60 students. However, this intake shall be

within the sanctioned intake for UG courses of 1st shift in the Institute and not an

additional intake.

When approval of 60 is accorded for this integrated course, maximum of 60 students can

be selected from total Sanctioned UG Intake (all UG courses in 1st shift) in the given

programme. Hence, total intake of the Institute will not change in any case.

1.9 : Exit from the course : Student can discontinue the said course after 4th year completion ( After completion of 8 sem) to award degree in B.Pharmacy
