The cleansing lemonade – or sometimes commonly referred to as the

Phase One: Beauty Awakening

This is the stage of the cleanse where you’re essentially getting rid of the

toxic build-up of sludge and free radicals in your body. This is admittedly

the hardest stage of the Natural Beauty Cleanse, if only because your body

is going through withdrawal from eating so much toxic and processed

foods.

Therefore, it’s important to have plenty of patience when you’re going

through this stage of the cleanse, because this is admittedly when you’re

going to need the most strength and resolution.

If you need a little bit of inspiration when you’re feeling tempted to give up

the Natural Beauty Cleanse, just turn to the last chapter of this book for a

bunch of affirmations that will help you make it through the tough spots.

With that in mind, let’s take a look at some of the basic tenets of the Beauty

Awakening phase.

You’ll want to avoid fruit (yes, this might sound a bit odd at first),

except for fruits that are considered non-sweet. This includes

lemons, limes, tomatoes, cucumbers, and avocados. You’ll also

want to avoid any fruit juice.

You’ll want to avoid any dairy.

Limit the amount of gluten you have in your diet, such as wheat,

rye, and barley products. To help make the most of this cleanse,

you can have a gluten food item up to four times in the week. As

you move forward with the Natural Beauty Cleanse, you can stick

to this tenant to minimize build-up of toxicity.

Refined sugar and starches. This means ditching your diet soda

habit.

Artificial sweeteners.

What’s more, you shouldn’t eat animal protein during the day, as this slows

down your stomach’s ability to digest food. Stick only to the kind of

proteins you can get from plants, as this will help ensure that any nutrition

from your food is disseminated through your body faster.

You should also make an effort to minimize snacking as much as possible,

as this drains the energy that’s coursing through your body. Remember, all

energy should be preserved for your beautifying efforts – and if you’re too

busy snacking, you’ll find that a great deal of your energy is always being

expended upon the simple act of digesting.

If you do happen to feel hungry throughout the day – and this is very likely

to happen, as your body is used to consuming heavily processed foods – we

recommend eating vegetables, like carrot sticks with salsa or another

combination of the delicious foods we’ve discussed in previous chapters.

Canned and microwave foods.

Foods with additives and artificial ingredients (take a look at the

nutrition label – if you can’t pronounce it, it’s likely that it’s an

additive. Choose foods with less than two or three main

ingredients).

Table salt (this is highly toxic – in fact, resolve to avoid this

altogether, and replace it with high-quality sea salt instead).

Alcohol, as it contains too many sugars.

Fried foods.

Refined or heated oils, except for coconut oil.

Unfermented products containing soy as a main ingredient.

Other oils, including olive oil. The only exception to this rule is if

you are medically classified as underweight.

If you’re thinking of snacking on nuts, make sure that you eat less than an

ounce. Anything more will be too heavy for your digestive system, which

means that much of your energy will be expended on digesting the nuts,

and not beautifying your skin, hair and nails.

In addition to these tenets, you’ll want to ensure that you eat a vegetarian

dinner at least three times each week. Bonus points if you eat meatless

dinners more often than that.

Once again, it’s important to note that this might be a massive change from

what you’re used to eating – and you may be tempted to resort to some of

your favourite foods from the past.

If this happens, don’t beat yourself up about it or throw out the Natural

Beauty Cleanse altogether. Just increase the portion sizes of your next

Beauty Cleanse meals, with a particular emphasis on eating more leafy

greens.

If you’re craving dessert, give yourself a sweet tooth fix you can crave by

drinking herbal tea or unsweetened almond milk. To help sweeten it up,

you can add a bit of stevia, which should give you the sweet tooth fix

you’ve been craving.

If you’re really desperate for something sweet, you can have some dark

chocolate. However, this is only a last-resort type of solution, and shouldn’t

be repeated every day. Try to limit this option to once per week.

If you’re wondering what to make during the first phase of the Natural

They’re delicious, nutritious, and chockfull of essential nutrients that will

than three days. Listen to your body while you’re completing this phase. If

celery stalks for breakfast, followed by a couple of pieces of

toasted millet bread. If you need a topping for the bread, use

Eat a kale salad for lunch, followed by veggie sticks with salsa for

a mid-day snack. For dinner, have a large green salad with a cup

of lightly steamed broccoli and baked fish with lemon. You could

swap out the fish with a veggie burger if you please. Any midnight

snack cravings should be met with carrot sticks in salsa.

To help make this transition easier for you, here’s a quick fix menu that you

can use for three days:

A cup of hot water with lemon juice (about half of a lemon).

Take a probiotic supplement with a full glass of water. Eat two

to three celery stalks for breakfast, followed by a couple of

pieces of toasted millet bread. If you need a topping for the

bread, use organic butter.

Eat a large romaine salad for lunch, followed by slices of avocado

on a slice of gluten-free millet bread. Follow this with veggie

sticks and salsa for a mid-day snack. Eat a large salad for dinner,

with two cups of spinach lightly sautéed in coconut oil. Eat

baked or roasted chicken as a main, or swap it for a veggie

burger.

sticks, or a cup of hot herbal tea. Make sure that it’s something

non-caffeinated, as you’ll just end up making it hard for you to

fall asleep.

You can stick with this exact plan if you need guidance during the first three

days of detoxification; if this is your second time using this plan, feel free to

substitute the meals with a Cleanse-approved food that works for you.

Remember, this is about cleaning out your body, so you’ll want to pick

foods that won’t overwhelm your digestive system.

Once you’ve hit Day Three without incident, it’s time to move onto the next

phase of the Natural Beauty Cleanse.

Phase Two: Beauty Radiance

Congratulations, you’ve made it to day 4! By now, you should be feeling

much better about yourself, both physically and emotionally. You should

start to have more energy as the toxins are flushed from your body; you

should even feel a bit more slender, as the toxins take away the bloat that’s

a sure-fire sign of toxic sludge.

What’s more, you should notice that your skin is beginning to get clear and

radiant, as your body is expending more energy on building up collagen

levels within your complexion.

This next phase is designed to help you build upon the lessons and results

you’ve garnered from the first phase, which means you’ll be losing even

more weight, seeing better skin, and feeling like you’re on top of the world.

This second phase won’t be too hard to follow, as you’ll be using the same

rules from the first phase. The only exception is that now you’ll be free to

eat as many fruits as you’d like. See that? A whole lot of new foods just

opened up to you – and now you’ll be able to enjoy yourself immensely!

It is important to acknowledge that you might hit a wall at this point. You

know what we mean here – the kind of wall that stops you out of nowhere

Although the recommended time to stay in this beauty phase is about three

days, many people like to prolong this time simply because their bodies are

getting used to eating healthier.

Make sure you stay here for a minimum of three days; if you feel as though

you’d like to follow the plan longer, that’s definitely recommended. Just be

sure you’re mixing up your meals, as you don’t want to hit the proverbial

wall due to sheer boredom with your food.

Phase Three: Beauty Glow

This is the longest phase of the Natural Beauty Cleanse, as you’ll want to

remain in this phase for at least ten days. The Beauty Glow phase is where

you’ll really see those beautifying results come to life. Once you’ve reached

this stage, your body has rid itself of a good percentage of toxic wastes,

which means you should have ultra-high energy levels and glowing skin.

This is the stage where you’ll really see that magical complexion, thick hair

and strong nails that you’ve been dreaming about. This stage will help you

develop your cleanse even further, so that every cell in your body is

working toward your most beautifying results.

In other words, this is the stage where you’ll start reversing the signs of

aging, erasing sun damage, growing back healthy hair, and much more!

What’s more, this stage is where you’ll finally see a reduction in those

unhealthy cravings you may have been battling against. Your body will

become used to eating healthy – in fact, you might find if you eat any

processed foods, you’ll wake up with a serious headache and an upset

In the Beauty Glow phase, you’ll be swapping out cooked grains at lunch for

cooked veggies and avocadoes. These are dense and nutrition-packed

foods that will leave you feeling much more full and satisfied in the middle

of the day. What’s more, you can eat fish, eggs, and goat’s cheese up to

two times a week at dinner.

Other dinners have to be strictly vegetarian based. Land animals (such as

3 avocadoes

Juice of ½ lemon
