Why is Data Important?
• Without data, retailers would only be able to measure their sales based on product shipped (backdoor) and would not have an understanding of what is actually sold (going out the front door).
• By combining store and panel data, manufacturers not only know HOW MUCH is being sold but WHO is buying it. This translates into the opportunity to make business decisions with quantitative data to sell more product.
