January 8th, 2016
Our junior high population of
students has grown over the
last year and several students
were sharing each locker.
Over winter break we installed
new lockers. The lockers are
smaller, but each student get’s
their own locker.
Chase Fisher shows off his new locker.

One of the components of our Gear Up
Program is for recent alumni students to
visit with younger students and discuss
the importance of high school and how
to transition to college. They met with
juniors and seniors in December.
Thank you to Mrs. Waddington for co-
ordinating these visits.

Coquille students continue to help with the restoration of Cunningham Creek. One of
the benefits of the restoration includes enhanced habitat for returning salmon.
A partnership of Coquille students and teachers, Oregon Stewardship, Coquille Water-
shed Association and the Coquille Booster Club will plant along the creek after the Win-
ter flooding. They will plant the following native species:
1000 willow cuttings
100 alder trees
100 snowberry
60 each twinberry, salmonberry and dogwood
20 spirea
16 Sitka Spruce
