They have been very respecul and responsible and best of all the majority of students have been really excited to come back to school. Parking in the Street I have been informed that the council inspectors are all returning to work and will be patrolling the area both before and aſter school. So please ensure you are doing the right thing by following the street signs and obeying the traffic laws, as the fines are quite substanve. Please use one of the school crossings when you are crossing the road. They are there for your childs safety and I never want to have a child hit by a car as this would just be devastang, not only for the parents, but also the enre Coral Park Community. I alert you to this as a child at a school in our local area was struck by a car this week. Desks and Chairs Many parents indicated that they would like a desk and chair for their child(ren) when we went into remote learning. State Schools Relief, who are supplying the furniture were inundated with requests from schools for these items. This meant they took a while to arrive. If you have not picked up your desk and chair yet, please do so as soon as possible. If your items have not been collected by the end of next week we will need to return them to State Schools Relief. Extra Curricular Acvies Covid-19 has resulted in schools having to cease extra curricular acvies for the me being. Interschool sport, playgroup, student banking and school photos have all been postponed. Unfortunately, because we are unsure of when restricons will be eased further, acvies requiring advance bookings and deposits have had to be cancelled. This means we have had to cancel our Junior and Middle Swimming program this year and also cancel this year s Middle School Camp. We understand that this is disappoinng for students, however it is important we follow the guidelines which have been established for schools to ensure everyone remains as safe as possible. Student Details Leers containing student and family details are being sent home with the eldest child in each family. It is essenal that these details are checked carefully and any alteraons are made if necessary. Most families have done a great job of updang their contact details to ensure they have remained contactable during our period of remote learning, but it is a requirement for the school to ensure all family details are current. Now that students are back at school, it is essenal we have current emergency contact phone numbers in case something happens to your child and we cannot make contact with the primary contact. Of parcular importance is the accuracy of parent/guardian employment details and occupaon codes. The occupaon codes of families are used for determining the funding allocaon to schools, so it is vital these details are correct. If you have any queries regarding which occupaonal group code you are in, please contact the office for assistance. Please make sure you check these forms and return them to the school before the end of this term. Jusn Thompson Principal

Welcome Back Years 3 to 6 Well done to all our Year 3 to 6 students who have been fantastic with their return to school. They have been very respectful and responsible and best of all the majority of students have been really excited to come back to school.

Parking in the Street I have been informed that the council inspectors are all returning to work and will be patrolling the area both before and after school. So please ensure you are doing the right thing by following the street signs and obeying the traffic laws, as the fines are quite substantive.

Please use one of the school crossings when you are crossing the road. They are there for your child’s safety and I never want to have a child hit by a car as this would just be devastating, not only for the parents, but also the entire Coral Park Community.

Extra Curricular Activities Covid-19 has resulted in schools having to cease extra curricular activities for the time being. Interschool sport, playgroup, student banking and school photos have all been postponed. Unfortunately, because we are unsure of when restrictions will be eased further, activities requiring advance bookings and deposits have had to be cancelled. This means we have had to cancel our Junior and Middle Swimming program this year and also cancel this year’s Middle School Camp. We understand that this is disappointing for students, however it is important we follow the guidelines which have been established for schools to ensure everyone remains as safe as possible.

Student Details Letters containing student and family details are being sent home with the eldest child in each family. It is essential that these details are checked carefully and any alterations are made if necessary. Most families have done a great job of updating their contact details to ensure they have remained contactable during our period of remote learning, but it is a requirement for the school to ensure all family details are current. Now that students are back at school, it is essential we have current emergency contact phone numbers in case something happens to your child and we cannot make contact with the primary contact. Of particular importance is the accuracy of parent/guardian employment details and occupation codes. The occupation codes of families are used for determining the funding allocation to schools, so it is vital these details are correct. If you have any queries regarding which occupational group code you are in, please contact the office for assistance. Please make sure you check these forms and return them to the school before the end of this term.

Leadership Forum

On the 3rd of June, the house and vice captains were invited to a leadership forum. Originally, we would have gone to Bunjil Place but due to COVID-19 we couldn’t go there. So, the City of Casey thought about doing this leadership forum remotely. The Leadership Forum for 2020 was really fun. Kara Bell was the lady in all the videos teaching us. There was an African drumming band, Ellie Blackburn, singing, Solli Raphael and the Casey Community. Solli Raphael's 3 tips to write were; 1) Buy a journal 2) Find a space 3) Choose a topic. His 3 tips to becoming a better leader were to; 1) Get courageously creative 2) Be a good role model 3) Have a vision.

Ellie Blackburn was really inspiring to us because she has taught us that it is important to be resilient through hard times. “It can be tough, it can be challenging, but if you can be resilient and trust each other, it can be way easier."

The knowledge we gained from this experience is that being a leader means you need to consider what your peers are saying, and be a great role model. We can say that this Inspire Leadership forum has been a great opportunity for us to learn quite a few things. We were really grateful to be a part of this experience and hope there will be more forums to attend to in the future.

Senior Giant Games The senior students returned to school this week!! There was a buzz in the air as students returned to school based learning and caught up with their friends and teachers. They particularly enjoyed the new giant games available at recess and lunchtimes. It was great to see so many students using them in our extended senior play areas. Check out the pictures!!
