People around the world have many of the same needs. They share the same feelings about what make life good.
People everywhere think about how to keep safe and healthy and how to get
along with others.

Acting on your own is showing independence. Many children are interested in helping their communities. For example, Karen was a girl from Sogamoso and she was nine years old, she saw a problem in her neighborhood, el Rosario.

The problem was that cars were not stopping for children at crosswalks and children were in danger when going to the school. ..

…Then Karen wrote a letter to the magazine of the school, the director of the school read the letter and made a Traffic Safety Commission. Karen was happy because she became a member of the TSC because she proposed a solution for that problem.
