The pollen filter is designed to filter out dust, pollen and other particles that wouldnormally make their way into your vehicle through the Heating, Ventilation and AirConditioning systems. Pollen filters work very well, but need to be replaced as part of ascheduled maintenance program. Restricted/dirty pollen filters put a strain on the blowermotor, which can cause it to be excessively noisy and fail prematurely. This kind ofstrain on a blower motor also can cause problems with the vehicle wiring and electricalsystem, due to the excessive amperage required for the blower motor to function.Replacing the blower motor can be very expensive on some vehicles.

Significance:

Dirty Pollen Filter

Access the pollen filter according to the vehicle manufacturer’s service information.Remove the pollen filter from its housing. Clean the housing of all dust and debris.Install the new pollen filter into its housing.

Operation Description:

Replace Pollen Filter

Advantage:

A clean pollen filter can be very effective at keeping dust, pollen, and other unwantedparticles from entering the interior of your car. Also, your blower motor will generate ahigher volume of airflow, boosting the efficiency and effectiveness of your Heating andAir Conditioning systems.

This repair is all about safety. Your vehicle’s brake system is only as good as your brakepads and/or brake shoes. The safety of you and your family depends on your brakesystem working properly and stopping your vehicle - every time. Aside from the obvioussafety issues, neglecting the maintenance of your brake pads and shoes can cause thefriction material on your brake pads and shoes to completely wear out. This conditioncan leave your brake pad/shoe steel backing plates contacting the rotors/drums and willdestroy the drums/rotors leaving you with an expensive repair bill

Significance:

The accessory drive belt(s) on your vehicle performs many functions. The PowerSteering System, Alternator (charging system), and Air conditioning System are alldriven by accessory drive belts. On some vehicles, accessory drive belts also drive thewater pump, engine cooling fan, and Air Injection Pump (emission control). Accessorydrive belts wear during normal engine operation, and need to be checked and replacedperiodically. Keep this point in mind, as you can lose one or more systems if a belt isbroken. For example, a broken fan or waterpump belt can cause severe overheatingwhich could result in expensive repairs, or even total engine failure. A broken powersteering belt can result in the loss of your vehicle's power steering system, which couldmake your vehicle very difficult to steer. This condition could be dangerous if a quicksteering maneuver is necessary. A broken alternator belt could cause your vehicle to loseall of its electrical power, and could eventually result in a dead battery. This conditioncould cause the engine to shut off and not restart.

Advantage:

Late model vehicles offer very little engine clearance under the hood. A broken mountcan allow the engine to move and cause damage to the engine and/or body of the vehicle.Engine/Transmission mounts are tough components, but constant vibration and changesin temperature can weaken engine mounts over time. Serious engine or Powertraindamage can be prevented by replacing a worn or damaged engine mount.

The vehicle's wheel bearings allow the wheels to rotate with low resistance and lowfriction. Modern wheel bearings are usually tapered roller bearings that are matched to aprecision machined race. High quality wheel bearing grease is used that can stand up tothe high temperatures generated from today’s aggressive disk brake systems. Somewheel bearings are serviceable and can be repacked with grease, while others are non-serviceable, or sealed units. A worn out wheel bearing will usually make a lot ofresonating noise that will transfer to the interior of the vehicle. If a worn out wheelbearing is neglected and not replaced, it can seize up, which can cause your vehicle tolose control, or be unable to move. When this happens, it is likely that the seized bearinghas caused irreparable damage to the spindle or hub, resulting in an expensive repair bill, and a lot of vehicle down time.
