Home of the Tomahawks

This slogan was adopted shortly after our schools closed this spring due to COVID-19. We recognized the changing needs of our families and worked tirelessly to give back to our community during these difficult times. Our district is much more than an educational institution. We are committed to supporting the Corinth

community and we are proud of the numerous food and supply drives that we have been able to provide. We strive for strong community partnerships, consistent communication, customer service, and family engagement.

Remind your child(ren) about the importance of proper hand washing and hygiene, and to continue practicing while at home.

Help your child(ren) become accustomed to wearing a mask for a period of time.

Be prepared to assist your child with logging onto Google Classroom in the event that he/she has to remain home for any reason.

Complete daily wellness screening of your child including temperature check. Keep students home that are not fully healthy.

Have age appropriate conversations with your child(ren) to prepare them for the school year, in that it will be new and different no matter what grade level(s) they are in.

Home Expectations

Parents are our greatest partner as we navigate through the upcoming school year. To ensure your child(ren) has a smooth return or start of school we are asking parents and guardians to do the following.

College Planning Guide

A student’s education beyond the high school level is important. The planning process can be exciting and offers many rewards. The following guidelines have been developed by the Corinth Central School Counseling Office and are offered to assist students and their parents with college planning activities.

Junior Year

October- Take the PSAT (arrange through counselor)

October-May- Meet with college representatives virtually.

February/March- Obtain college information. There are excellent websites for college searches. Review updated college entrance testing requirements and register for examinations (SAT I, SAT II, & ACT) as needed.

April/June- Attend virtual college fairs and compile a list of potential colleges. Take SAT and /or ACT. Please refer to the district webpage for a detailed list of college related websites.

July-August- Visit colleges during summer vacation.

July-September- File NCAA Clearinghouse forms if you expect to compete in athletics at a Division I or II college.

Senior Year

September- Meet with your school counselor to review graduation requirements and discuss post high school plans.

October/November- Take SAT and ACT examinations; attend Fall college fairs online; begin financial aid process; visit colleges.

October-January- Attend Senior Financial Aid night; compile a checklist for applications, including deadlines for submission (wherever possible, applications should be filed before the holiday recess); speak with college friends who are home for holidays.

Parents and students should complete necessary state, federal, and college financial aid forms. Be sure to file forms required by your college. The form required by all colleges is the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). This is available online (www.fafsa.ed.gov).

December- File the CSS Profile form for financial aid if it is required by colleges you are applying to.

January-April- Await college admission decisions.

Apply for Scholarships

April- Review offers of admission and financial aid awards. Response date (for non-refundable deposits) is May 1.
