The Community Hospice Looking for New Volunteers

The Community Hospice, providing services in eight countiesaround the Capital Region, is looking for compassionate andfriendly people who have positive attitudes and are good listenersto be Hospice Volunteers.Volunteers may visit with patients and families in private homes,hospitals and nursing homes. Volunteers may also help with ad-ministrative work in the Hospice office, deliver supplies, run er-rands, and support the Hospice effort in a number of other ways. According to Susan Cunningham, Coordinator of Volunteer Serv-ices, “Our volunteers describe their work with Hospice as one ofthe most valuable experiences in their lives. Their visits bringwarmth, compassion, support, strong shoulders and humor topeople in the final stages of life, and improve the quality of life ofboth patients and families.
