FEBRUARY 2016 IT WAS A BUSY FALL SEMESTER FOR THE CORNELL FASHION COLLECTIVE, and with the 32 nd annual fashion show quickly approaching, we are not slowing down. From collaborating with our fashionable friends in Careers in the Fashion Industry and Thread Magazine for events to putting on our first flash fashion show, as a collective we are always looking for new ways to get involved and make a statement on Cornell campus. With the show being almost a month earlier than usual, designers have taken the studio by storm as we all prepare for our best year yet! The Cornell Fashion Collective had the opportunity to host our first Cornell Couture Night in collaboration with the Cornell China Club, Chinese Students and Scholars Association, and Thread Magazine in the Herbert F. Johnson Museum of Art. It was a night filled with fashion and glamour as models filled the room wearing his designs and Xu detailed his artistic process for each piece featured. In December we hosted a Flash Fashion Show across Cornell campus featuring students’ designs and filmed our first promotional video for the show. welcomed renowned couture designer Laurence Xu to campus. The Cornell Fashion Collective had the opportunity to host our first Cornell Couture Night in collaboration with the Cornell China Club, Chinese Students and Scholars Association, and Thread Magazine in the Herbert F. Johnson Museum of Art. It was a night filled with fashion and glamour as models filled the room wearing his designs and Xu detailed his artistic process for each piece featured. THE YMA FASHION SCHOLARSHIP FUND This year, 11 Cornell students received the $5,000 YMA Scholarship and Eric Beaudette received one of the four $30,000 scholarships for his wearable technology designs. Winners included: Caroline Soule, Kristina Escobar, Sydney Conner, Eric Beaudette, Jessa Chargois, Jacqueline Fogarty, Caroline Donelan, Sarah Ruehlow, Samantha Stern, Hannah Wheeler, Kennedy Rauh, Joanne Kim
