長榮集團始自於長榮海運股份有限

公司,創立於1968年9月1日,

成立之初,僅以一艘十五年船齡的雜貨船刻

苦經營,雖創業維艱,但始終以經營定期航

線之貨運服務為志。因此成立未幾,即陸續

開闢了遠東/中東、遠東/中南美洲、遠東

/紅海及地中海等定期航線,展開遠洋定期

航線之營運。

1975年,正當能源危機衝擊全球,海運市

場銳減之際,長榮海運卻因洞察趨勢,毅然

展開船隊貨櫃化之計劃,以新造的快速全貨

櫃船隊,開闢遠東/美國東岸全貨櫃定期航

線,首開我國全貨櫃船隊之先例;隨後,多

條全貨櫃定期航線亦先後開闢成功,為日後

環球航線,奠定堅實的基礎。

1984年,長榮海運開闢了史無前例的環球

東西雙向全貨櫃定期航線,並以高效率之全

自動貨櫃船,配合完善的電腦資訊連線系

統,提供全球工商界經濟、便捷、安全之

運輸服務,開航以來廣獲客戶之支持。隨

著時代快速變遷,長榮也彈性地調整營運

策略,以符合市場需求,例如在2002年以

二條鐘擺航線取代了經營十八年的環球東

西雙向航線。

在穩定的成長中,長榮海運為服務貨主,

不斷地改進創新、擴展營運航線及提昇服務

品質。例如,為提供貨主戶至戶的運輸服

務,長榮海運更不斷發展海上及陸上之接駁

及轉運業務,與主要航線之母船脈絡相連,

形成一貫之海陸聯運網。

發展至今,長榮海運服務網路遍及亞洲、

中東、歐洲、美洲、澳洲、非洲及地中海等

地區,貨櫃承載量早已躍居全球最大的貨櫃

船運送業者之一。

Evergreen Marine Corporation was

established on September 1, 1968.

Although it started with just a secondhand

general cargo vessel providing a “go anywhere”

service, Evergreen was intent on building up a

business which would provide its customers

with scheduled marine transportation services.

Consequently, less than one year after its

foundation, Evergreen introduced its first liner

service on the then relatively neglected Far East-

Middle East trade route. Subsequently, other

regular liner services were successfully

established over a relatively short period of time.

Recognizing the new trends in liner shipping,

Evergreen launched its first full container

service in 1975, sailing from the Far East to the

US East Coast. The inauguration of this venture

was achieved successfully despite an oil crisis

hitting the world economy and, in turn, the liner

shipping industry. Following its first move into

container transport, Evergreen systematically

containerized all of its major liner routes in

preparation for its planned Round-the-World full

container service.

In July 1984, Evergreen initiated a two-way

Round-the-World container service. With highly

efficient container vessels and global operations

controlled by a well-developed computer

network, this unique service provided shippers

with a very efficient transportation system and

made a major contribution to the development of

trade worldwide for 18 years.

Times change though and Evergreen has

moved with them. Today, demand patterns are

changing and so Evergreen needs to rationalize

schedules so as to continue to provide customers

with the best possible service. This prompted

Evergreen to terminate its Round-the-World service

in 2002, replacing it with “pendulum services”.

Elsewhere too, Evergreen has adopted a

policy whereby, in order to serve its customers

more efficiently, it has continuously expanded

its trading routes and upgraded its services with

the introduction of new systems and concepts.

For example, Evergreen has developed its feeder

and inland transportation networks to connect

with mother vessels in the various ports the

company serves. In this way, it provides links

with markets both large and small, along the

coastline and far inland. Door-to-door

transportation has become the natural expectation

of Evergreen customers.

Today, Evergreen provides liner services

throughout Asia, the Middle East, Europe, the

Americas, Australia, Africa and the Mediterranean.

Yet, despite being one of the world’s largest ocean

carriers, it operates in an independent style that

affords maximum flexibility to adjust its

operations. This policy enables it to be highly

responsive to customer needs. In a world of fast-

changing market conditions, we know our

customers need and appreciate this.

Evergreen is committed to maintaining its

traditional philosophy of serving world trade by

providing the best transport services possible.

By so doing, it is certain to play an even more

important role in the world of commerce.

Evergreen’s principal trading routes can be

divided into five sectors:

Far East-North America and Far East-Central America and the Caribbean

Evergreen’s busiest trade route is that between

the Far East and North America. Customer

demand on this route is for tightly scheduled and

frequent transportation services. Consequently,

the company offers seven separate services

linking the Far East with the East and West

Coasts of North America.

Routes include calls in Taiwan, Hong Kong,

Mainland China, Korea and Japan, offering high-

speed transportation services to West Coast ports in

the US. Evergreen also utilizes the double stack

train services that link these West Coast ports with

cities on the East and Gulf Coasts, the Mid-West

and other inland centers of population and industry.

Close attention to inland logistics

requirements, including the choice of the best

routing options, enables Evergreen to offer fast

and efficient door-to-door services to and from

all points in North America.

For those customers preferring direct routes

connecting the Far East with East Coast ports in

the US, Evergreen offers all-water services via

the Panama Canal.

Another coordinated route connects the Far

East with the Caribbean, utilizing Panama’s

Colon Container Terminal for transshipment.

Evergreen thus offers various solutions to meet all

container transport requirements in this region.

Far East-North Europe and

Far East-Mediterranean

Customers in North Europe and the

Mediterranean are demanding ever more

comprehensive services from ocean carriers.

Evergreen offers full container services between

the Far East and the Mediterranean, as well as

between North Europe and the Far East.

Evergreen offers two sailings a week between

North Europe and all principal Asian ports. The

WAE service is a pendulum operation which

extends onward to the West Coast of North

America while the CEM service provides direct

links with China.

Between the Mediterranean and Asia,

Evergreen offers a dedicated weekly service and,

in addition, feeder options over Taranto provided

by the CEM service which includes this

Evergreen hub port in its schedule both

eastbound and westbound.

Coordinated feeder services connect secondary

ports throughout Europe, the Eastern

Mediterranean, Mainland China and SE Asia

with primary Evergreen routes. In addition,

Evergreen offers a service between the Indian

sub-Continent, Europe and the US East Coast.

亞洲—北美/亞洲—加勒比海地區航線

亞洲與美國地區間的貿易往來非常頻繁,

是世界上運輸服務最密集、最繁忙的地區,

所以本公司目前除鐘擺航線外,另提供多條

航線,連繫亞洲與美國東、西岸。

航線主要彎靠台灣、香港、中國大陸、日

本、韓國等地,提供往返美國西岸各主要港

口間的快速運送服務。美國內陸雙層貨櫃運

輸服務提供「戶至戶」的一貫運送,減縮運

送時間,有效率地將貨物送抵目的地。此

外,更有亞洲經巴拿馬運河直航美國東岸航

線;亞洲經巴拿馬運河箇朗貨櫃碼頭,將貨

物以子船轉運至加勒比海地區;以及印度次

大陸到美國東岸之服務。

亞洲—歐洲/亞洲—地中海航線

歐洲及地中海地區港口分佈廣泛,本公

司提供多條直靠日本、韓國、中國大陸華

北、華中及華南、台灣、香港、馬來西亞

Europe-North American East Coast,

Atlantic fixed-day Service

To meet the demands of customers shipping

cargo across the Atlantic, Evergreen offers a fast

fixed day service between Europe and the East

Coast North America.

Far East-Australia,

and Far East-Mauritius,

South Africa and South America

Evergreen offers a complete service network

in the Southern Hemisphere, including routes

from the Far East to Mauritius, South Africa and

across the South Atlantic to South America. In

1997 Evergreen opened north-south routes

between the Far East and Australia. Port

rotations include stops in South East Asia and

North East Asia as well as East Coast ports in

Australia. These routes also connect to other

primary routes served by Evergreen mother

vessels, such as to the South America West Coast.

The aim as ever is to build a coordinated

worldwide service network. Moreover, utilizing

Evergreen feeder vessels as well as those of other

companies in strategic alliances with Evergreen,

ports in India, Pakistan and Bangladesh also

become part of the Evergreen worldwide

transportation network.

Intra-Asia,

Asia-Middle East

and Asia India sub-continent

Evergreen provides a complete range of

services linking ports in Asia and to/from the

Middle East, Persian Gulf and the Red Sea.

Trade between these countries continues to grow,

demanding higher frequencies of service, greater

port coverage and larger vessels.

為滿足大西洋兩岸間的貨主需求,本公司

以鐘擺航線提供定期運送服務。

亞洲—澳洲航線/

亞洲—模里西斯、南非、南美航線

除了東西向的運送服務外,本公司在南

半球的服務網,有亞洲與模里西斯、南

非、南美東岸間的往返航線。此外,遠東

與澳洲南北向航線於1997年開闢,服務範

圍囊括東北亞、東南亞至澳洲東岸航線,

經由子船的接駁,服務範圍可達印度、巴

基斯坦與孟加拉。

上述各航線亦可與本公司其他主航線之母

船相連接,形成更綿密的「棋盤式」服務

網,例如以母船將貨載送至巴拿馬後,再轉

至南美西岸等國家。

亞洲區域航線/亞洲—中東、紅海/

亞洲—印度次大陸地區航線

為加強本公司在亞洲區域、亞洲-中東紅

海及亞洲-印度次大陸地區間之快速往返運

送服務,長榮開闢多條快速區域航線,完整

串連全亞洲,自韓國、日本、台灣、中國大

陸、香港,至東南亞之泰國、菲律賓、越

南、新加坡、馬來西亞、印尼等國家,此

外,更將服務網延伸至印度次大陸、中東及

紅海地區。

長榮海運在經營多年的遠洋航線後,現今

更加強提供多條綿密、快速的近洋貨櫃航

線,以滿足廣大客戶的各項運輸需求。

為提供客戶更便捷、更高效率的運送服務,

長榮集團目前在全世界共投資經營四座貨櫃碼頭,

作為主要的區域轉運中心,

分別是台灣的台中港32、33號貨櫃碼頭、

高雄港第四、第五貨櫃中心、

巴拿馬的箇朗貨櫃碼頭及義大利的塔連多貨櫃碼頭。

Evergreen has always worked to provide its customers with the most efficient

and convenient marine transportation services possible.

To help achieve this,

Evergreen has established four transshipment hubs around the world,

namely Taichung Container Terminal and Kaohsiung Container Terminal in Taiwan,

Colon Container Terminal in Panama and Taranto Container Terminal in Italy.

Taichung Container Terminal

With a length of 570m and a depth of 14m,

Taichung Container Terminal at Wharves 32 and

33 of the port complex acts as a transit-hub

connecting major ports such as Tokyo, Osaka,

Pusan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Port Kelang,

Bangkok and Jakarta, as well as the many other

ports served by Evergreen’s intra-Asia services.

Evergreen also runs parts of its local import and

export traffic through the terminal.

Kaohsiung Container Terminal

Evergreen has expanded its Kaohsiung

operations which had previously been centered

around its three-berth dedicated facility Berths

115, 116 and 117 at Terminal No 4. In 2000,

Evergreen invested in Terminal No 5: Berths 79-

81, the port’s first large-scale, privately run

common-user facility. These facilities in total have

an annual capacity of 2.7 million TEU per annum.

With 15 meters water depth alongside, the

three new berths in Terminal 5 have a total length

of 815 meters and a combined space of 400,000

square meters to serve three containerships

simultaneously. The stacking capacity is

sufficient for 20,000 TEU dry containers plus

5,500 TEU empty containers and there are 824

reefer plugs. Nine post-Panamax ship-to-shore

gantry cranes operate on the terminal, supported

by 24 rail-mounted yard gantry cranes and three

empty container stackers.

台灣台中港32、33號貨櫃專用碼頭

長榮集團投資興建之台中港32、33號貨櫃

專用碼頭於1995年年底開始營運,位於台中

港內中突堤區,長度570公尺,水深14公尺,

總面積約28萬多平方公尺,地理位置適中,

服務範圍廣大,北可伸展至竹苗地區,南可

延伸到嘉南地區。該碼頭於2000年1月獲台中

關稅局批准實施「全面自主管理」作業,配

合完善的電腦化儲位管理系統,不僅為中部

地區貨主節省南北拖運的時間與成本,亦可

提供正確且快速的服務品質。

台灣高雄港第四、第五貨櫃中心

長榮海運以BOT(建造、營運、移轉)方

式建造之高雄港第五貨櫃中心79至81號貨櫃

碼頭,在2000年對外開放營運。三座碼頭基

地相連成倒L型,全長815公尺,水深15公

尺,總面積達40萬平方公尺,可同時泊靠三

艘大型貨櫃輪進行裝卸作業。長榮海運目前

在高雄港共擁有六座設備先進的民營公用碼

頭,含第四貨櫃中心115、116、117號碼頭,

及第五貨櫃中心的三座碼頭。該六座碼頭於

2000年5月獲高雄關稅局批准實施「全面自主

管理」作業,藉由單一作業窗口的推行,提

供貨主便利的全方位交領貨櫃服務,並加快

貨櫃的通關作業,有助提升航商船期的調度

與服務品質。

Colon Container Terminal

Colon Container Terminal (CCT) is located at

Coco Solo, Republic of Panama, an ideal

location for transshipment linking Pacific trades,

Atlantic trades and North-South trades. CCT is a

major hub port for Evergreen. It also operates on

a common-user basis.

Covering 25 hectares in Phase I, CCT

incorporates 612 meters of quay with 14 meter

depth of water capable of serving simultaneously

two Panamax vessels and handling container

approximately 500,000 TEU per annum. CCT is

planning to bring its Phase II plan forward. A

berth of 370 meters in length equipped with 3

units of shore cranes together with a 12-hectare

container yard and equipped with 12 units of

rubber-tyred gantry cranes.

Taranto Container Terminal

Taranto Container Terminal (TCT) in the south

of Italy is ready to serve as one of the most

important hubs in the region as a common user

facility. It is linked directly to the Italian rail

network and block trains can be operated to/from

industrial areas in northern Italy. It is also served

by a comprehensive feeder network connecting

other Italian ports, the West and East

Mediterranean, the Adriatic Sea and the Black Sea.

TCT has completed its Phase I and II

construction, the 1,500 meter length quay which

are served by 8 post-Panamax ship-to-shore

cranes and 24 rail-mounted container stacking

cranes. The berths offer a depth alongside of

15m, sufficient for the largest vessels currently

operating. Two 22-row super post-Panamax cranes

had joined the terminal operation by the end of

2003, which aims to achieve higher operation

efficiency. With its complete construction, the

operating capacity of TCT will be able to reach 2

million TEU per annum.

巴拿馬箇朗貨櫃碼頭

長榮集團投資興建之箇朗貨櫃碼頭位於巴

拿馬市以北約八十公里的可可索羅(Coco

Solo),第一座碼頭於1997年啟用,碼頭長度

612公尺,面積達25畝,水深14公尺。二期工

程新增碼頭370公尺,面積12畝,於2005年八

月中完工啟用。

義大利塔連多貨櫃碼頭

長榮集團投資興建之塔連多貨櫃碼頭於

2001年6月對外開放營運,目前已完成第一及

第二期工程,碼頭長度達1,500公尺,水深15

公尺,並備有8座超巴拿馬型橋式機及24台軌

道式門式機,可供五艘大型船舶同時彎靠作

業。除此之外,另外2台可橫跨22排貨櫃的超

巴拿馬極限型橋式機,也已於2003年年底加

入作業的行列,大幅提高碼頭作業效率。根

據規劃,未來塔連多貨櫃碼頭的總長度將可

擴建至2,050公尺,七個船舶席位,年作業量

將可達二百萬TEU以上。

Evergreen offers temperature-controlled

transportation throughout its global network

covering Asia, Europe, the Mediterranean, the

Americas, Africa, and Australia. All types of

commodity are carried including fruit,

vegetables, meat, seafood, dairy products,

confectionery and temperature sensitive non-

alimentary and pharmaceutical products.

Evergreen reefer containers are all equipped

with state-of-the-art refrigeration machinery

incorporating microprocessor control for instant

error detection. By reporting any malfunctions

immediately, ships’ crew and terminal operators

are able to take instant remedial action to ensure

each shipment is carried and delivered in the

best possible condition. Evergreen also offers

customers the option of using controlled

atmosphere (CA) systems. These extend the

shelf life of certain perishable products.

Year by year, Evergreen expands its reefer

Fully appreciative that people are our

industry’s most valuable resource, the

Evergreen Group-under the guidance of Group

Chairman, Dr. Chang Yung-fa – established the

5,280 m2 Evergreen Seafarer Training Center

(ESTC) in Nankan, Taoyuan County, Taiwan.

ESTC is fitted out with all manner of

professional equipment for use in the advanced

training of in-service officers and seafarers. The

Center’s aim is to help hone the skills of and

enhance interaction between these officers and

seafarers, as well as to familiarize them with the

expertise necessary to avert emergencies and

prevent marine accidents and pollution at sea,

thereby maximizing overall team operation and

performance.

ESTC is equipped with the most advanced,

fully-functional ship training simulators,

including a bridge simulator, a propulsion plant

simulator room, a main engine control system

simulator room, a multi-media debriefing room,

a library, a medical care training room and

classrooms, along with simulation training

equipment. In June 2001, ESTC was awarded

ISO-9001: 2000 certificate by Det Norske

Veritas, which recognized the Center ’s

compliance with standards governing “Rules for

a Maritime Training Center” as well as

certificates for “Rules for a Maritime Simulator

Center” and “Rules for Maritime Simulator

Equipment”.

有感於優秀航海人才培育之不易,1999年在

總裁張榮發先生的指示下,長榮集團特

別於桃園南崁自行斥資興建長榮船員訓練中心,除了

聘請學經歷豐富的專業海事人才來訓練船員外,並引

進多項新穎的航海實體機具、模擬機、電腦輔助系統

及醫療實作教室等設備,希望藉由密集、系統化的實

際操作訓練課程,來提昇船員的各項專業職能與知

識,以達成人員、貨載、船舶的「三安」目標,並積

極預防海難事故與環境污染之發生。該中心於2001年6

月取得由挪威驗船協會所頒發之ISO-9001:2000海事品

質系統證書,以及海事模擬機設備、海事模擬機訓練

中心與海事訓練中心等合格證書,為國內第一家取得

認證的船訓單位。

船協會之「環境保護認證」與美國驗船協會

之「環境安全認證」,並前瞻性地採用雙重

船殼設計,以避免意外事故發生時,燃油洩

漏至海洋所造成之環境污染。此外,S型船

也特別採用內置式油艙設計,將油艙置於貨

艙與貨艙間的橫向水密隔艙區間,使油艙得

到雙層防護,可避免船舶遭遇碰撞時,燃油

The Evergreen S-Type Greenships design from

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries’ Kobe Shipyard

incorporates features that meet or surpass the

strictest global environmental standards. It has

received Lloyd’s Register Environmental

Protection (LR EP) notation and equivalent

Environment Safety (ES) notation with the

American Bureau of Shipping (ABS).The

double-skinned hull designs of the Evergreen S-

type Greenships demonstrate the company’s

commitment to sustainable development, protection

of the maritime environment and corporate social

responsibility. The oil tanks on the S-Type

Greenships are situated in the spaces between

cargo holds and above the tanktop to minimize

the likelihood of fuel spills in the event of an

accident. To honour environmental commitments,

Evergreen’s S-Type Greenships use the latest

low-sulphur fuel systems, advanced oil-water

separators, environmentally friendly Freon, large

high-temperature incinerators and Alternative

Maritime Power (AMP) to protect the purity of

the oceans and the air quality around ports and the

people who live there. To protect and sustain the

oceans, Evergreen is committed to a new tin-free

anti-corrosive coating on the new S-Type ships as well

as all of its other vessels. Research has shown that

this coating has high anti-corrosive properties and

is better for the environment. Excessive tin in ocean

environments can cause serious harm to marine life.
