International food and duty-free serviceWhen we started to write this brochure, we thought we

were telling the company’s story. We envisaged that, like all

good stories, ours would start at the beginning, describing

how we’ve successfully served our customers since 1872,

helping them serve their customers by acting as a distributor

that places trust, integrity, transparency and stability above

all else.

But, we realized that this is not the complete story. While

we’re still everything we thought we were, we’re also much,

much more. We’ve progressed. The world’s progressed.

And we’ve altered our world. This brochure is the reflection

of that progress.

Through constant growth, innovation and adaptation,

we’ve evolved from being a distributor to being an integral

part of the food chain. Our focus on responding to clients’

requests with solutions – locally, nationally and international-

ly – strengthens us internally, and enables us to forge strong

bonds externally.

Two groups lie at the heart of this evolving story: the

people who serve our clients, and the clients we serve. This

brochure is a snapshot of both. It highlights the power, the

flexibility and the spirit we are proud to say that our people

display at all times, irrespective of the challenges they face.

supply philosophy clearly and simply. We don’t offer our

clients standard or off-the-shelf solutions, because we don’t

have standard or off-the-shelf clients. They’re unique, just

like their requests. When clients choose from our range of

more than 40,000 goods and items, they know they can

choose from one item all the way through to 40,000. And

have them shipped from A to B. Or A to Z. Customs cleared,

certificates in hand. We call it single source supply.

Purchasing and sourcingTo provide our clients with the best service, quality, price and

range, we source globally and combine all purchases from a

range of different markets, ensuring the best possible deal.

Clients benefit from the economies of scale that come from

bulk buying, while our specialist global sourcing team know

where to look for hard-to-find requests.

Our cl ients decideOur clients select the brand, we supply the goods. By

offering a broad variety of products, from A-brands through

to our own value brand GoodBurry, and from catering sizes

through to ready-to-eat meals, we give clients the option to

choose the products that best fit their needs.

Ship suppliersThe Port of Rotterdam is the largest in Europe. It’s a busy place,

where we bring goods on daily basis. When ships berth, unloading,

re-stocking and departure often takes place within hours. When

ship suppliers place an order with B&S Bosman Global before

midday, we guarantee same-day supply. Frozen, chilled and

dry goods. Single items, or hundreds. Paperwork cleared.

us, it’s a daily reality. And because we’re active in over 100

countries, were as used to discussing international supply

chain logistics as we are customs regulations. Whether it’s

providing food or bonded items, or establishing a new logis-

Challenging supply chainWe operate in some of the world’s most challenging

locations. We provide military and peacekeeping logistical

services for forces in Afghanistan, Iraq, Somalia, Sudan,

Chad and a range of other critical zones worldwide. We

also use our supply chain expertise to stock clients’ oil, gas

and mining operations in Algeria, Angola, Kazakhstan and

Madagascar, among other locations.

We have long-term business relationships with some of the

world’s largest cruise operators, providing tailor-made retail

Accuracy countsEffective supply chain management

is an art. It’s not just about the

quantity of goods processed, it’s

also about the ability to consolidate

orders. Each day our logistics

center consolidates a huge array of

clients’ goods, dispatching multiple

truckloads that could contain a vast

combination of different goods, with

individual items, boxes or trays of

goods all shipping in one load. All of

which adds up to over 100 million

kilos of goods dispatched each year.

Supply chain managementEffective supply chain management takes more than just

being able to manage and coordinate the distribution of

goods from point A to point B. It requires an intimate un-

derstanding of your clients’ needs. And that takes time and

experience. In our case, over 140 years of experience. With

a head office and state-of-the-art logistics center located

next to the Port of Rotterdam, Europe’s largest, our exper-

tise is complemented by direct access to one of the world’s

great distribution centers.

The power of innovationToday, our transit center utilizes some of the most sophis-

ticated warehousing equipment to optimize accuracy and

efficiency. Voice-directed warehousing cuts order-pick-

ing times, while our compact warehousing system has

increased storage capacity by 33%. We provide fully bond-

ed warehousing, as well as multi-temperature storage and

onward transportation. B&S Global Transit Center has the

most extensive customs and veterinary warehousing licens-

es in the European Union, with full-time customs officials

and veterinarians working on site. All this adds up to stor-

ing, moving and handling over 100 million kilos of goods

per year.

Wherever you need itOnce a client order has been placed, we use a fixed network

of transport partners to expedite delivery. We use bulk and

combined load facilities for sea, land and airfreight, while se-

cured door-to-door supply chain solutions ensure deliveries

are safeguarded at all stages of the journey.

Ensuring full compliance, at all stages of the business

process, is standard procedure at B&S. Our clients and our

clients’ customers expect and demand the toughest criteria

to be applied across all compliance issues, from food safe-

ty through to customs clearance. And we follow the same

rigorous principles.

Toughest standardsFood safety and transparency are company priorities. All

food products that enter our logistics center are subject to

comprehensive quality controls, are handled with the utmost

care, and are stored in temperature-controlled environ-

ments. And with clients and the food industry increasingly

focused on the provenance of food, we ensure that there is

a clear paper trail from the moment products enter our sup-

ply chain, right through until the moment they are delivered

to our clients.

Framing the cert i f icatesWe are ISO22000 certified, a risk management sys-

tem for food processing set at the highest level, which

includes working according to the HACCP (Hazard Analysis

and Critical Control Points) principles. We are also AEO

(Authorized Economic Operator) certified, which, as a

trusted party, enables our goods to clear customs in an

expedited manner, reaching our clients that little bit faster.

And as an organization that issues one of the highest num-

bers of customs documents in the Netherlands, our under-

standing of compliance regulations is second to none. We

take pride in the fact that we operate the European Union’s

most extensively licensed bonded warehouse, and follow

compliance processes and procedures that are certified to

the most stringent standards.

Mitigating risk Full compliance for all goods in the

supply chain is a pre-requisite at

B&S. But for higher-risk products,

such as meat and poultry, we

ensure that all compliance and

safety procedures are rigorously

checked. At our logistics center,

the European Food Safety

Authority checks to ensure that all

documents conform to the correct

standards, and they take random

samples for laboratory analysis.

Special requests – such as Halal

products – are handled with the

utmost care, and our entire chain

conforms to ISO22000 food quality

processes and procedures.
