Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Charter We believe that corporate social responsibility is integral to meeng our strategic objecves as it will ensure we maintain our social license to operate, enhance our reputaon with all our stakeholders, improve our risk management, reduce our cost of producon and both directly and indirectly benefit the communies we operate in beyond the life of our mines. Our approach to CSR is based on the following Principles: 1. Complying with our corporate governance principles, naonal and internaonal laws, industry codes and being a responsible corporate cizen 2. Migang our impact on the environment 3. Maintaining a high level Health and Safety performance 4. Acvely idenfying opportunies to make a posive and meaningful contribuon to the communies we operate in beyond the life of our mines 5. Contribung to the economic and social development of our host countries 6. Developing our employees 7. Adhering to our values and demonstrang them in our behaviour We follow these guidelines in our CSR conduct: 1. We embrace the objecves of the African Mining Vision and are guided by the Global Reporng Iniave in our CSR reporng 2. We regularly engage with our stakeholders and take into consideraon their perspecves, concerns, customs and cultural heritage before we act 3. We work closely with landowners prior to commencing acvies on the ground, and negoate fair compensaon for such acvies where appropriate 4. We hire local, regional and naonal residents and use goods and services from our local communies wherever possible, without compromising our quality and efficiency standards 5. We uphold fundamental human rights and do not interfere or take sides in polics or social issues 6. We work with unified local commiees to idenfy and priorise community development projects intended to promote long-lasng livelihood improvements 7.
