We are civil structural monitoring and Construction materials testing specialists. We provide various systemsand services to help engineers better understand the performance of structures. Our testing work for the buildingsector includes load testing of floor slabs, monitoring during structural alterations and vibration studies, all to

the relevant standards as required, Non destructive tests, fresh properties of aggregates and concretes, Chemicalanalysis of construction materials and hardened concrete.

CCS, founded in Nov 2006 by alumni of Delhi College of Engineering under the guidance of IIT Delhi Civil

Engineering Faculties, is operational from New Delhi.

We are the provider of structural strengthening solutions for maintaining and improving concrete buildings,bridges, columns, decks, culverts, diaphragm wall, bridges, highways, airports, harbours, railways, utilities andretaining walls. The process allows structural modifications to be made including removal of columns, walls and

forming openings in floors, provides increased load capacity and repair to the structures with improvedserviceability, reduced deflection and impact resistance.

Non Destructive Testing and Condition SurveyWorking on Health of Civil Structures

Non-destructive testing (NDT) makes it possible to examine the condition or the quality of an object without

damaging it. At CCS we offer specialist services in non-destructive testing of structures, products and materials,e.g. concrete, and steel covering all test methods for diverse requirements including inspection and maintenance.

Our Non-Destructive Services Include:

STEEL:The following tests are conducted:

Ultrasonic Flow Detection: To Check internal defects like cracks, laminations etc. by normal & shearwave technique

Ultrasonic Thickness Testing: To check the thickness of plates, angles, channels, etc.

Magnetic Particle Testing: To detect surface & sub surface defects by using ferro magnetic flux on

magnetic changed surface of plates, weld zone etc.

Day Light- By using dry/wet powder

Dark Areas-By using ultraviolet light to detect the defects

Dye Penetration Test: To check the surface & sub surface defects like opening, cracks, porosity ofmaterial in plates, welds etc. by using Halogen Free Penetration

Repair and Rehabilitation of StructuresWorking on Health of Civil Structures

Structural Repair Strategies:

Our core capabilities include the identification and design of thoroughly-formulated structural repair strategiesfor building facades, high-rise commercial office buildings, public buildings, high-rise residential buildings,industrial plants, civil structures, masonry and concrete dams, bridges fire-affected structures etc. We also

undertake recommendation of restoration & repairs measure of heritage buildings and structures.Our work includes concrete, brick/stone masonry & steel structures. We also solve building roof waterproofing

problems through the use of various types of roof membrane systems.

Pile TestingWorking on Health of Civil Structures

CCS provides site pile testing and pile condition reporting services to the construction industry. Theseservices include Pile Integrity Testing (PIT); Cross Hole Sonic Logging; Pile Length Measuring and

consultancy on the capacity and serviceability of piles. We use the latest site testing equipment andanalysis software to provide a fast, efficient and cost effective service.

Pile Integrity Testing (PIT)

Defects in concrete piles caused either during or after construction may seriously affect their performance inservice. Load testing of piles may be used to check the assumptions adopted in the load capacity design of the

piles. However, it is too expensive and time consuming to use load testing as a means of checking workmanship.

Modern non-destructive methods based on small strain impulse techniques enable the integrity of all the piles ona site to be established rapidly and economically to enhance confidence in the foundation. The test is performedusing a portable, battery powered unit which requires no backup vehicle or vulnerable cables across site thatdisrupt normal construction activity. The test equipment is based upon the most modern digital data acquisitionand signal processing techniques currently available, thus maximising the resolution and effectiveness of the test

system. In excess of two hundred piles per day may be tested with this unit, depending on access and pile headcondition.

Cross Hole Sonic Logging (CHSL)

The CROSS-HOLE SONIC LOGGER is used to detect defects in concrete structures and in other solidstructures such as rock or concrete-rock interfaces. Defects that may be detected using sonic logging include:honeycombing; segregation due to improper concrete placement methods; washout of cement due togroundwater flow; cracks in pile shafts due to shrinkage; inclusion of foreign material causing contamination ofconcrete; necking and arching of piles due to collapse of side walls during withdrawal of temporary liners.

Vibration Monitoring Monitoring & analysis of vibrations for optimisation of hammerparameters for compaction of soils, at power house sites due to turbo-generators, during driving of

sheet piles , due to traffic in rock mass , in abutments due to movement of overhead trolleys & forassessing safety of constructed due to vibrations imposed by blasting etc.
