Perfectly embedded between Umbria and Tuscany, amidst enchanting panoramas and precious traces of history, the Hotel Villa di Piazzano has a vitality and a “breath” that regenerates the senses. Surrounded by 1 hectare of gardens, this splendid historical estate has travelled through time. Since 1464, the villa was initially the hunting manor of Cardinal Silvio Passerini, and later became a convent for nuns. In the last two centuries it was operating as a tobacco and vine growing estate. Today the Villa and its lands are protected by the Environmental Authorities due to its historic importance.

Perfettamente incastonata fra Umbria e Toscana, nel bel mezzo di panorami incantevoli e preziose tracce di storia, l’Hotel Villa Piazzano ha una vitalità e un “respiro” che rigenerano i sensi. Immersa in diecimila metri di parco, questa splendida residenza d’epoca ha attraversato il tempo. Dal 1464, la villa fu dapprima la residenza di caccia del Cardinale Silvio Passerini, per poi diventare un convento di suore e infine, negli ultimi due secoli, una tenuta agricola, votata alla coltivazione di tabacco. Una storia importante, tanto da meritare la protezione della Sovrintendenza ai Beni Ambientali.

CantinaWine cellarThe cellar is a hidden gem. Built with very ancient building techniques, it maintains a constant temperature of 16C˚ all year around. Today the cellar stores the many fine wines served at the bar and restaurant of the Villa.

La cantina e’ una piccola “chicca”. Costruita con metodi molti antichi, mantiene una temperatura costante durante l’anno di 16C˚. Oggi contiene una vasta selezione di vini pregiati che vengono serviti al bar o nel ristorante della Villa.

BETTOLLE-VALDICHIANA; after the toll booth turn

right and follow signs for PERUGIA; on the motorway

towards Perugia take the CASTIGLION DEL LAGO EXIT

and turn right towards CORTONA (SS71);

Pass the town of TERONTOLA and then RICCIO and

turn right for OSSAIA; after Ossaia follow the road un-

til the very end; at the “T” intersection turn right for

MERCATALE (SP35); After 4 km, at the end of the town

of Pergo, turn right for Villa di Piazzano. The Villa is

located at the very end of a cypress tree lined road.

Raccordo autostradale BETTOLLE-PERUGIAEXIT / USCITABettolle - Valdichiana

Dall’autostrada A1 ROMA-FIRENZE uscire a BETTOL-LE-VALDICHIANA. Dopo il casello girare a destra e seguire le indicazioni per PERUGIA. Dalla superstrada per Perugia uscire a CASTIGLION DEL LAGO, e girare a destra in direzione CORTONA (SS71).

Passati i paesi di TERONTOLA e RICCIO, girare a destra per OSSAIA. Seguire la strada fino alla fine e girare a destra in direzione MERCATALE (SP35). Dopo 4 Km, alla fine del paese di PERGO girare a destra per Villa di Piazzano. Seguire il viale dei cipressi fino alla fine.
