He guided Missouri to an overall record of 111-56 (.665) with 13 wins over ranked opponents, four NCAA Tournament victories and a 75-13 mark at home. Now known as a builder of programs, Anderson's first head coaching stop was at UAB where in four years he amassed an 89-41 (.685) record with the Blazers. His teams made four consecutive post season appearances including three NCAA Tournament runs and his 2003-04 squad went all the way to the Sweet 16. He was named the Ray Meyer Conference USA Coach of the Year in 2004 after leading the Blazers to an overall record of 22-10 and a share of the league's regular season championship. UAB's first round NCAA Tournament victory over Washington that season was the Blazer's first since the 1986 season, and the Sweet 16 run was a first since the 1981 UAB season. A part of the history and tradition that is Arkansas basketball, Anderson was a volunteer assistant, assistant, recruiting coordinator and assistant head coach over 17 seasons with the Arkansas basketball program with Richardson. Anderson was a part of perhaps the greatest run of basketball in Arkansas history as it matched many of the biggest names in the sport in total wins, NCAA Tournament appearances and Final Fours. The Razorbacks won five outright conference championships in his 17 years on the bench, won an SEC Western Division title as well as Arkansas' only SEC Tournament Championship in 2000. Anderson is a 1982 graduate of Tulsa where he played for two seasons averaging 12 points per game and helped Tulsa make the NCAA tournament in 1982.

BRIAN BOYER

After 12 seasons at the helm of the Arkansas State women’s basketball program, head coach Brian Boyer has not only established himself as the winningest coach in ASU women’s basketball history, but as the winningest basketball coach to ever pace the sideline at Arkansas State. When Boyer led the Red Wolves to a victory in the regular season finale, he passed former women’s head coach Jerry Ann Winters with 197 victories, moving to the top of the list of all coaches in the history of ASU men’s or women’s basketball. The Red Wolves then picked up victories over Florida Atlantic and NCAA Tournament participant Middle Tennessee in the Sun Belt Conference Tournament to close out the season with 18 victories and give Boyer 199 wins to his credit. The Red Wolves finished the 2010-11 season strong, winning seven of their last nine games to advance to the semifinals of the Sun Belt Conference Tournament and close out the year at 18-14, with a 9-7 slate in league play. With nine conference victories for the year, Boyer now stands at 105 career Sun Belt Conference wins and is tied for fourth place all-time with former Western Kentucky Coach Paul Sanderford. Throughout the season, the Red Wolves relied on defense on the way to their 18 victories. Arkansas State finished the season at No. 4 in the nation in three-point field goal percentage defense, holding opponents to just 26 percent shooting from outside the arc. The Red Wolves were also 28th nationally with a plus-3.94 turnover margin, and their 10.3 steals per game ranked 46th in the nation. Arkansas State held its opponents to just 57.4 points-per-game on the season to finish 54th nationally in total defense.

TOM COLLEN

When Tom Collen answered the call to return to the University of Arkansas, he knew he was coming home. The seventh head women’s basketball coach in Razorback history, Collen served as the first assistant head coach during the mid-1990s. His recruiting work led to one of the greatest moments in Arkansas history - the 1998 Final Four. By January 2008, Collen had the current Razorbacks in The Associated Press Top 25. That made Collen only the ninth coach in women's college basketball history to take three different programs into the AP rankings, and he had done it in only 10 seasons. In his three seasons with the Razorbacks, Collen has coached five all-Southeastern Conference selections. Collen's road home to Arkansas started in the Blue Grass state. Settled in at Louisville and putting the Cardinals in the top 25 and the NCAA second round, Collen earned his 200th career victory that season and seemed ready to move UL into the Big East elite. Then, the phone rang and Collen came home. Collen served as the recruiting coordinator for four seasons at Arkansas from 1993 until departing to become the head coach at Colorado State in 1997. In his final two seasons with Arkansas, Collen was promoted to assistant head coach for the Razorbacks. The national coach of the year in 1999, Collen is one of the top women's coaches in the game. Across the span of his entire women's basketball coaching career, Collen has never been on a coaching staff -- head coach, assistant head coach or assistant coach -- that recorded a losing season. The 54-year-old native of Lancaster, Ohio, graduated from Bowling Green State in 1977 with his bachelor's in physical education. He completed his master's in recreational education and in health education at Miami of Ohio in 1983 while serving two seasons as the Red Hawks' graduate assistant coach.

SOFTBALL MARK MONTGOMERY

Mark Montgomery was hired as Northern Colorado's head softball coach in 2010. Montgomery, a Kentucky native who brings more than 20 years of softball coaching experience at the high school level and above in Kentucky and Louisiana, came to Greeley from Centenary, where he coached for eight seasons and was the school's all-time winningest softball coach. Montgomery also served as Centenary’s Assistant Athletic Director for Development, overseeing a major renovation to the Ladies’ Softball Complex in 2009, including new dugouts, sound system, and a brick backstop. He was also instrumental in the start up of Centenary's C-Club, the athletic department’s primary booster club, and securing the Ladies’ membership into The Summit League. Montgomery joined Centenary in August of 2002 after spending the two previous years as the head coach at Georgetown College in Kentucky. He guided the Tigers to a 72-31 record in two seasons, while advancing to the NAIA Regional tournament both years. He was named Mid-South Conference Coach of the Year in 2002. Prior to Georgetown, Montgomery served as an assistant coach in 2000 at the University of Kentucky. Throughout the 1990s, Montgomery was a successful high school coach at Lafayette High School in Lexington, Kentucky, and Richmond Model High School in Richmond, Kentucky. While at Lexington, Montgomery led his team to seven district titles, five regional titles and a state championship. He was later inducted into the Kentucky High School Softball Hall of Fame in June of 2004. Montgomery received his bachelor’s degree in history education from Eastern Kentucky in 1992 and his masters degree in secondary education from Georgetown College in 2000

BASEBALL CHRIS CURRY

Chris Curry takes over Meridian Community College’s baseball coaching duties after spending the past two seasons as an assistant baseball coach at the University of Arkansas. His duties with Southeastern Conference power Arkansas included working with the Razorback pitchers and catchers. He also coached first base for UA and assisted with organization and implementation of daily practices for the Hogs. Prior to arriving at Arkansas, Curry was an assistant coach at Arkansas Tech University in 2008 where he worked with catchers and hitters. His coaching helped Arkansas Tech raise its team batting average 26 points over the previous season. Before his stop at Arkansas Tech, Curry was an assistant coach for Hendrix College in 2006-2007. Curry played professional baseball for over seven seasons with the Chicago Cubs and San Francisco Giants organizations. A native of Conway, Curry was an all-state pitcher and catcher for

Conway High School setting 10 hitting and catching records. Upon graduation from Conway, Curry signed as a catcher with Meridian Community College where he helped lead the Eagles to back-to-back Region 23 and Miss-Lou Conference titles and an appearance in the 1998 JUCO World Series. After playing for MCC, Curry signed with SEC power Mississippi State University where he led SEC catchers in fielding percentage. Curry left the Bulldogs in 1999 after being drafted in the ninth round of the Major League Draft. JIMMY HARRIS

Jimmy Harris, baseball coach at Shiloh Christian High School, is a graduate of Broken Bow High School in Broken Bow, Oklahoma. He went on to play football at Haskell Indian Junior College, where he made All-Conference two years. He graduated from Southeastern Oklahoma State University. He began his coaching career at Foreman High School where he was defensive coordinator, head junior high football and baseball coach. JEANNIE DOUGLAS

She won one Big 12 championship as a player on the Oklahoma softball team in 2007, and she was part of another Big 12 title this past season as a Sooners graduate assistant. It’s safe to say Jeannie Douglas knows a thing or two about what it takes to win a conference championship. Douglas was hired in July, 2010, as an assistant softball coach at Northern Colorado University. Douglas was a four-year letter winner at Oklahoma and earned an Academic All-Big 12 First Team selection in 2009 in her final playing season in Norman. Douglas played in 87 games in four seasons with the Sooners and started in six games her senior year. A quick glance at her stats shows a respectable line in her time at OU, but her penchant for big plays in big situations stands out. “My passion at this point in my life is coaching student-athletes at the college level,” she said. “I have the type of personality that I can help motivate and encourage these young women. I love to see players come alive as a person and really understand the bigger picture. I want to develop these athletes as a whole and be a positive figure they can rely on during their college experience.” ERIC NEWELL

Eric Newell is in his fifth year coaching the Williams Baptist College softball team. His teams have experienced notable success and quickly established a winning tradition. Under his leadership the Lady Eagles have had three straight seasons of 20 or more wins with a .677 winning percentage. In 2010 Coach Newell led the Lady Eagles to the college's first ever conference championship. He also earned American Midwest Conference Coach of the Year. In the past two seasons he has had 16 All-Conference selections and 31 Academic All-Conference Selections. He is a WBC graduate who was a standout athlete in his own right for the baseball Eagles.

SOCCER JULIE LONG

Julie Long graduated from West Plains High school in Missouri and graduated from Harding University with a math degree and played soccer two years and was a student assistant her senior year. She coached the senior high girls at Nettleton for two years and added the boys the second year. She currently coaches senior high girls soccer at Bryant High school and coaches for Bryant Soccer Club in the fall. Coach Long is also involved in the Olympic Development Program.

STEPHEN SLOAN Stephen Sloan graduated from De Queen High School in 1991 lettering in football and baseball. Sloan graduated from Henderson State University receiving a B.S.E. in Physical Education and later earned a M.ED. in Administration from Harding University. After graduation from college, he worked one year at Camden Fairview as assistant football coach and assistant soccer coach. When he returned to De Queen, Sloan worked as assistant senior high football and assistant baseball coach for five years. Sloan has been the head junior high football coach for the last six years and coached two years of junior high track before taking over as head boys soccer coach. The soccer program at De Queen has been in existence four years winning the last 3 state titles in 4A.
