Who is responsible for what?

• The European Commission (DG GROW) is drafting the Space work programmes (as basis for calls)

• The Space programme committee involves EU member states and associated countries in programmatic and financial aspects

• The Research Executive Agency (REA) and European GNSS Agency (GSA) take care of the evaluation and management of the projects from the funding side

• External evaluators agree on proposal rating and ranking

• National Contact Points provide guidance, information and assistance

National Contact Points system in Horizon 2020

National Contact Points (NCPs):

– are the main structure to provide guidance, information and assistanceon Horizon 2020

– provide support in their own countries and language

– are nationally funded and organised in national NCP systems

– have knowledge about cross-cutting instruments and programmes like the SME instrument, Fast-Track-to-Innovation (FTI), etc.

– receive EU funding for transnational activities (NCP networks)

– cooperate with the European Enterprise Network (EEN)

– Space NCPs are experts on the Space programme under Horizon 2020

Objectives of COSMOS2020

Networking of Space NCPs for:

– improved information flow (in and out)

– supporting in particular smaller and new EU member states, Horizon 2020 associated countries and new staff

– integration of international partner countries outside Horizon 2020 / Europe

– more balanced and overall improved NCP service

– improved project partner search support

– additional services (next slides)

• Go to infodays in other countries

• Present your competencies in short presentations and bilateral meetings and talk a lot with other participants

• Put an elaborate profile in the COSMOS partner search database

• Use the database to look for potential partners

• Involve your excellent Space NCP [Pierantonios]

• Don‘t hesitate to ask questions if something remains unclear

• Create your own networks

• Better start as partner

• Become evaluator (register at the participant portal with a meaningful profile)
