Costume Design

Shirt + JacketThe colour and design of the shirt has to be white because we don’t actually want to make him look like someone from the

army. Our protagonist is more of a top tier security guard so a plain white shirt

is a suitable choice.

The typical Kevlar vest would be suitable, as long as it doesn’t look like it can carry a lot of equipment i.e. pockets

for grenades etc… because if it does, then it may draw the attention away from the

face

Shoes and Trousers

The shoes should be plain black, sturdy trainers or plain black boots. This is because the conventional look of a modern soldier, and since we cannot acquire actual military boots, any plain sturdy black shoes should suffice.

The trousers, much like the shoes, should be plain black. Any different type of army trousers wouldn’t fit in with the narrative because our protagonist is actually a security guard, not an army soldier. It covers a lot of the protagonist’s entire look so the right colour and trouser type is crucial.

Gloves and Gun

The gun can be anything, as long as it’s a rifle, preferably automatic. This is because in a typical action scene there are usually a lot of gunshots, so therefore a gun capable of shooting a lot of bullets is necessary. As long as the gun isn’t clearly a toy gun, then it should work as our short is a serious film and it would completely put off audiences seeing an unconventional gun.

The gloves aren’t essential, but having extra clothing such as these fingerless gloves to make his overall look a bit more ‘battle ready’ and sturdy will emphasise our protagonist’s role as a security guard.
