The main artist that will appear on my front cover will wear a costume that reflects and highlights the fact that she is feminine, cute and fun. Bright colour such as a vibrant pink will be combined with softer colours to indicate that this artist wants to make an impact and is here stay. The costume will be conventional to other pop magazines in the sense of it being a girly colour (such as pink or purple) instead of being slightly more masculine (such as blue). The artists on the right all appeared on the front of pop magazines. As visible, they all are wearing some sort of pink. In some instances, for example the first and second model, have very vibrant clothes on to emphasis confidence and femininity. However, the last model has a very light pink skirt on which could emphasis cuteness and the youth of the readers. Their hair is open and bouncy which could symbolise the pop music as a genre.

From looking at already existing pop magazines, I can see that the costumes worn by males on the front cover is overall quite casual. For example, Niall from One Direction is wearing a simple white t- shirt and a grey hooded jacket. This is supported by the other two issues of the magazine as boy bands. One Direction and Union J are dressed in quite casual costume. Mostly features is plain t- shirts and some buttoned up shirts. Another conclusion I have established from these three ‘We Love Pop’ issues is that the male pop artists, costume follows main stream fashion trends. For example, on the left, Zayn from One Direction is wearing a denim jacket, which is a very common fashion item currently. Also, Niall on the right is wearing a jacket which is very common currently as almost everyone has a hoodie of this style. Overall, male artists in pop magazines are dressed according to latest fashion trends, but casually. This casual everyday wear look, that most normal boys would be wearing, presents the artists to the audience as just ‘normal boys’

HAIR AND MAKEUPThe makeup on this artist is quite bold and childish. This reflects the audiences’ age and innocence. Her lip colour is pink, which follows the convention of the front cover model having pink on them. For example, she is not visibly wearing a pink colour, however her lips are quite vibrant which also links into the idea of being a confident yet feminine woman. Her hair is perfectly straightened which could convince the young reader to take up an interest in her style.

The makeup on Rihanna is again quite childish. Her eye shadow is a bold blue. It is relatable to young teenagers as they may like bold makeup and it may be a way to express themselves. Her hair is very bright and bouncy, which emphasises the genre of pop.
