This month the Knight to be recognized is Tom Burns. Tom has been volunteering with the Stewards of Appalachia for over 10 years. He has dedicated his time and labor to helping people in one of the poorest counties in KY. He has been in the forefront organizing their efforts to make the best use of available time and materials. Additionally you can find Tommy here at the council every Thursday working with the R&L crew keeping the building in good condition. Thank you Tommy for your support to the community.

We continue to try and locate members with whom we have lost contact. The next group; William D Ogden, Stephen J Owen Jr., Timothy L Parker, Dennis T Perkins, Carl J Petitjean, Thomas E Phillips, Matthew G Platt, Mark A Reinstedler, Patrick J Renn, Jack L Roberts, Andrew L Rusch, James A Sabel and Ryan M Scanlan . If you have any contact information, please pass this to me or Tom Bennett. We hope to welcome back all past members of the Knights of Columbus Council 2761.

At all council activities, you will see a plastic jar out to collect Pennies for Heaven. The funds collected will go to the Bishop to support seminarians or novices. Drop in your loose change to support the education of our religious students. One last note, Father Poff has informed the Council and Assembly that he is stepping down as our Chaplin and Faithful Friar. Father has been our religious leader for the past 11 years. He has been dedicated in making the drive from his parish in Indiana to our meetings each month. His Summations have been both humorous and thought provoking. We will certainly miss Father Poff.

Vivat Jesus,Rick Ratterman Grand Knight

Greetings Brother Knights.

The Tootsie Roll drive was a success again this year. Although we did experience rain on Sunday we were able to match what was collected last year. Check out the photos on Facebook. We had a number of volunteers from the Charities we support along with the Council, Assembly, Columbia Ladies and the Boat Club who came out to work on the road block. Thank you to all who gave up their time to help raise funds for our Charities. A special thanks to Greg Johnson for organizing the Tootsie Roll roadblock for our charity drive Friday and Sunday and to Bill Merkley and the Boat Club for Saturday. Also a special thanks to Dennis Bosse, Pat Sheehy, Jeffery Reed, Best Buddies, Dreams with Wings and the Southwest Center.

Coming up on November 5 is the 11th Annual Charity Golf Scramble. Register your team soon. This has been a successful event raising money for the Charity Fund. After the golf tournament enjoy a chicken dinner at the council which is included in the registration fee. If you cannot play, please sponsor a hole or a donation is greatly appreciated. Entry forms are located in the upstairs dining room. Contact Pete Manning or Pat Sheehy for sponsorship information. Thank you Pete and Pat for your work in making this a successful event. I look forward to this event every year. I hope one day my team will come in under par.

November 8th is the annual Mass of Remembrance to honor our Brother Knights who have died in the past year. The Mass will begin at 7 PM on the second floor. Family members of the deceased will be present as we pay our respect. Plan on attending to honor our brothers.

The Trivia night date has been set for November 18. Door will open at 6 PM with the Trivia beginning at 7 PM. Two to eight can play on a team. The cost will be $10 per person. Get your team together for a fun night testing your trivia knowledge. There will be 60 multiple choice questions plus the opportunity to purchase extra bonus questions. Proceeds of the evening will go to the Charity Fund.

Sunday, November 19th is our Thanksgiving buffet. Please make reservations.

On November 23 we will again have the Thanksgiving mass. The Thanksgiving mass has been a long standing tradition for our Council and Assembly. Mark your calendar and plan to attend this year's mass. This will be Father Poff's final official act as our Chaplin and Friar.

The days are getting shorter and the temperatures starting to cool-off as we rapidly approach the holiday season. With that are many upcoming events that require your support. On a more solemn matter, we will have our Mass of Remembrance at 7PM on November 8th, commemorating the Sir Knights and Knights of Spalding Council and our Floersh Assembly who passed away

this year. After that, we will have our annual Thanksgiving Day Mass at 10AM on Nov 23rd. Our Faithful Friar, Father Pius Poff will celebrate both Masses supported by the 4th Degree Color Corps in full regalia. Father Pius has announced his retirement as our Faithful Friar after many years of dedicated service to our Assembly and Council. This will be the last mass that he celebrates with us before retiring to the other side of the river. Please thank him and wish him well, letting him know how lucky we have been to have had him with us.

Besides the upcoming masses, the 4th Degree Color Corps in Full Service Regalia will be marching in the upcoming Veterans Day Parade on Saturday, November 11 starting at 11:00am. We will form up around 10:15 on Main Street by the Yum Center and march down to 7th Street. For those who can't march, the Knights will have the Louisville Trolley joining us to ride in if needed. This is open for all Knights of Columbus and veterans regardless of their 4th Degree status or regalia. Please join us for this Patriotic event.

Also on Nov 5, we will be having our annual golf scramble at Long Run Golf Course at Noon. The entry fee is $75. Call Pete Manning at 589-4717 to sign-up.

Sunday, November 19th is our Thanksgiving buffet. Please make reservations.

On December 13 at 7:00PM, we will not have our regular 4th Degree meeting, but will be having our council and assembly Christmas Appreciation Dinner. Social hour starts at 6PM. Call 893-2220 to make reservations.

Next year our next 4th Degree regular meetings will be January 10 and February 8 at 7:00PM. Mark your calendars and also plan on attending our annual Valentine Dance Saturday night February 10. Many thanks to SK Dennis Bosse and Lady Karen Segars for our October meal and desserts.

For those who were not at our October meeting, we discussed the new 4th Degree uniform and that our current Color Corps would continue to wear the current Service Regalia until June 30, 2018 as propagated by Supreme. This new uniform consisting of an emblem embossed sport coat, trousers, sword, and beret costs a little more than the current regalia and requires tailored measurements when purchasing. I was humbled by a few of our members who stated that they would purchase the new uniform in order to continue our 4th Degree Color Corps after next June in order to pay homage and respect to our fellow Knights death watches and other solemn church ceremonies. Accordingly, a motion was made and passed to allow the current Regalia Fund to be used for no-cost loans to help purchase the new uniform with the same provisions as it was with the old Regalia.

As always, please remember the Wednesday Lunches, Friday Fish Fry, and Sunday Dinners including the good friends and camaraderie shared by all.

Good afternoon Ladies, as the weather is changing from the warmth to the cooling of crisp days and the brilliant fall colors just around the corner, I am finally finding a little bit of quiet time to write the article for all to read. Soon we will be having our Christmas Dinner/Party here at the Club House, so please let one of the officers know if you want to join us and need a ride. Mark your calendar for December 6th @ 6:30 PM. Again, our numbers are in the Good Knight and we will need to make arrangements soon.

September was dues month so if you did not join us for the meeting, please remember to either send the $10.00 in or pay at our next meeting in November. And speaking of November, the 15th is Churchill Downs Day. Remember to bring your monies for the admission ($24.00 per person) if you signed up and haven't given it to Bobbie Aubrey yet. Also for November's meeting we will be doing a Christmas Craft chaired by Rosi McGrath with her wonderful talent of crafty ideas.

We had 25 members and 2 guests for the October meeting, which is awesome. We would love to have more, please

Columbia Capersby Marie Wine

consider coming as the attendance prize did not go out so it will be $10.00 for November. Split the pot was $15.00 which was won by Nancy Szotak and the $5.00 prize was won by Cathy McGaughey. Halloween Tea Towels and a placemat was the door prize and was won by Darlene Moyers.

There are several things going on in November to note on your calendars. Wednesday, November 8th @ 7pm is the Mass of Remembrance. A Veteran's Day Parade is scheduled for Saturday, November 11th @ 11:00 am starting on Main St (by the Yum Center) to 7th Street. Trivia Night will be held Saturday, November 18th starting @ 6pm. Sunday, November 19th is our Thanksgiving buffet. Please make reservations. The Thanksgiving Day Mass will be held @10 am November 23rd.

Happy Birthday to our two Ladies for November, Barbara Sheehan and Mary Wagner. ENJOY!!

See you at the meeting!
