Have fun while gaining the confidence and skills you need to make your quilts even more beautiful with Judy’s easy to follow techniques and tricks. Judy will help you train your minds and hands to work together. This quilting dance will help you to make curls, do swirls, and create other intricate designs without using any templates.
Take your feathers from basic, to a more extraordinary, advanced look, while providing you with the knowledge you need to incorporate them into the overall design of your quilts, or just to use in a large border. She will teach you how to make feathers weave over one another and how to sub-divide large areas for added interest.
This class is packed full of border and sashing designs and techniques that will individualize your quilting to really help it be the center of attention. Learn about the many different types of backfills that can be used in your quilts as well as when to use them. Learn how to keep your borders and sashing lines straight, all while avoiding pleats or puckering on your backing.
Learn some of Judy’s backfill designs that she used in her award winning quilt, “Avatar Revisited”. Judy will guide us though the ins and outs of when to use a backfill, how to break down an area, and how to change from using a small backfill to a medium backfill, to what backfills will bring in focus and definition to your quilts, turning them into the masterpieces you have dreamed of!
