TRANSCRIPT

Vocal prayers during opening worship should be focused on thanksgiving, especially for answered prayers. There should be no prayer for supplication since these will be said later on.

O my God, I am heartily sorry for having offended Thee, and I detest all my sins,

because I dread the loss of heaven, and the pains of hell; but most of all because they offend Thee, my God, Who are all good anddeserving of all my love. I firmly resolve,

with the help of Thy grace, to confess my sins, to do penance, and to amend my life.

Amen.

A. ACT OF CONTRITION

COME HOLY SPIRIT

Refrain:Come, Holy Spirit

Fill the hearts of your faithful,Enkindle in us the fire,

The fire of your love

Verse:Send forth your spirit

And we shall be createdAnd you shall renew the face of the earth.

(repeat refrain)

The fire of your love (2x)

B. PRAYER TO THE HOLY SPIRIT

St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the Devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly hosts, by the power of God, thrust into hell Satan, and all the evil spirits, who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.

C. PRAYER TO ST. MICHAEL

The act of blessing persons or things with Holy Water (sacramental) is done for the

purification and cleansing of the recipient, and to cleanse their hearts, minds and lips of

sin.

D. BLESSING OF THE VENUE AND INTERCESSORS WITH HOLY WATER

Most Holy Virgin Mary, tender Mother of men, to fulfill the desires of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the request of the Vicar of Your Son on earth, we consecrate ourselves and our families to your Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart, O Queen of the Most Holy Rosary, and we recommend to You, all the people of our country and all the world. Please accept our consecration, dearest Mother, and use us as You wish to accomplish Your designs in the world.

O Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary, Queen of the Most Holy Rosary, and Queen of the World, rule over us, together with the Sacred Heart of Jesus Christ, Our King. Save us from the spreading flood of modern paganism; kindle in our hearts and homes the love of purity, the practice of a virtuous life, an ardent zeal for souls, and a desire to pray the Rosary more faithfully.

We come with confidence to You, O Throne of Grace and Mother of Fair Love. Inflame us with the same Divine Fire which has inflamed Your own Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart. Make our hearts and homes Your shrine, and through us, make the Heart of Jesus, together with your rule, triumph in every heart and home.Amen.

O Blessed Mother, with humble hearts full of confidence in your motherly love, we invoke you to accompany us as we pray to your Son, Jesus. With your help and compassion for us, your children, obtain for us the grace to know the will of God and to live it in our lives; to pray only for the desires that God puts in our hearts; and to obey the leadings and guidance of the Holy Spirit as we lift up to your Son our prayers of intercessions and petitions. Amen.

First of all, then, I urge that petitions, prayers, request and thanksgiving be offered to God for all people, for kings and all others who are in authority, that we may live a quiet and peaceful life, with all reverence toward God and with proper conduct. This is good, and it pleases God our Savior, who wants everyone to be saved and come to know the truth. For there is one God, and there is one who brings God and mankind together, the man Jesus Christ, who gave himself to redeem all mankind.

( To be read by the Leader)

The Apostle’s CreedI believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of Heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ, His only Son Our Lord, Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into Hell; the third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into Heaven, and sitteth at the right hand of God, the Father almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the living and the dead.  I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body and life everlasting. Amen.

The Lord’s PrayerOur Father, Who art in heaven, Hallowed be Thy Name. Thy Kingdom come. Thy Will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection, implored your help, or sought your intercession was left unaided. Inspired by this confidence, we fly unto you, O Virgin of virgins, our mother; to you do we come, before you we stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not our petitions, but in your mercy hear and answer us. Amen.

Heavenly Father, we thank you for the great privilege of sharing in your work and interceding for others. May we be instrumental to the fulfillment of your promises in their lives. Lord, we humbly beseech you to relieve our hearts, especially of the difficulties faced by those whom we pray for. As we surrender all of these to your mercy and , with loving hearts, leave them at the foot of Your cross, we humbly ask that you grant our petitions. Give us the grace to accept and submit to your will, for you, God, are all-knowing and have lovingly laid down your plans for us. Amen.
