CURRICULUM OUTLINE

HIGHER CERTIFICATE IN INTERNETWORK SYSTEM SPECIALIST

This qualification will equip students with relevant knowledge and practical skills concerning IT networks, security, Internet and the latest computer hardware. The curriculum is based on international certifications for A+ (Computer Hardware and Operating Systems), “Wireless Networking (Wi-Fi)”, Certified Cisco Network Administrator (CCNA) using technologies e.g. VPN’s, VLAN’s and Remote Administration and working with Routers & Switches, Linux Administration (Linux+), VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) and Basic Project Management (Project+).

This qualification ensures the students ample practical experience and enough knowledge to venture into the IT job market with confidence. Our curriculum is based on the prescribed international “CompTIA” curriculum (training programme). We use our own customised module titles (with the CompTIA names in brackets). We also conduct our own assessments for awarding our qualifications registered with SAQA. Students desiring to be awarded with the International Microsoft or CompTIA status of competence, e.g. MCSE and A+ must arrange and pay for such examinations by themselves.
