SFU –Math RequirementSFU –Math RequirementTo satisfy the quantitative skills requirement all applicants must present a minimum grade of 70% in the applicable math course required for admission.

Applicants with a grade of 60-69% must either:

•Score a 70% (20/30) on a Diagnostic Skills Exam

Or

• Achieve at least a “C” grade in a Foundational Course within the 1st 30 credits at SFU.

Note: Students below 60% will be denied admission to SFU

Note: Below 60% will not be admitted

All students must demonstrate their competence in English literacy as part if the admission process. This can be demonstrated through achievement in grade 12 courses, transfer courses or by other means. Students who do not meet these targets may still be accepted but will be required to take a foundational learning course to review and improve their skills.

A grade of 75% or higher in Eng 12 or Eng lit 12, you have met this requirement.

A grade of 60-74% before you are admitted to SFU, you must score a 4 or better on the essay portion of the LPI and 50% on parts 1-3, or be required to take a Foundation of Academic Literacy course once you are at SFU.

Students are accepted with general entry requirements (English 12 “C” or its equivalent), but for course selection your students time will be assigned by GPA based on high school marks of Eng 12, Principles of Math 11 and one provincially examinable grade12 course.

Some programs are not accessible to students directly from high school

Trade programs are have continuous enrolment, waitlists should be researched. Students may want to consider writing Pre-tests in Grade 12 to enhance wait list opportunities.

What is it?

Training to prepare students for entry-level employment in a trade area of their choice.

Most schools offering trade programs have ELTT programs:

Upon completion of a program, students may seek employment as apprentices. Also receive their Level 1 training certification

All students regardless of country of origin or citizenship are required to demonstrate this competence
