Course details in each class: Class no 1 Introduction: in this section of the course students will introduced to the basic tools and materials used during the course and the purpose, ways and methods of using it. In particular students will be introduced to the following:

- papers types and sizes - drawings pens and pencils - T- squares - different types of triangles and campuses - different supporting drawings materials The student introduced also to methods of drawing a frame for the sheets. The student asked to draw deferent type of lines ( parallel and crossed) by pencil as a class work and student asked to re draw the assignment in the home as a homework using pen and ink. The students asked to by the textbooks and recommend to by the reading materials as shown in the reference section

To start with, students asked to read in textbook no.2 p. And reading materials no.1 p.5-22

Class no. 2 Lines: In this classroom students introduced to the different type of pencils and pens and the purpose of each one in freehand drawings and architectural drawings. Also in this class, the students learn how to organize the A3 drawing sheet by drawing a frame containing the most significant information such as course name, course number, name of the assignment, student’s name and number, and number of the sheet. Class work (Sheet no 1) In this assignment, students asked to divide the working place in the drawing sheet to six equal rectangles. They will draw using pencils the following lines: 1- Horizontal lines (parallel) the space between each line 1 cm. 2- Vertical lines (parallel) the space between each line 1 cm. 3- Horizontal and vertical lines (parallel) the space between each line 1 cm. 4- Diagonal lines (45° from the left side of the drawing) 5- Diagonal lines (45° from both sides of the drawing) 6- Horizontal and vertical lines (parallel), the space between each line 1 cm. and diagonal lines (45° from both sides of the drawing). The diagonal lines should pass on the intersection point of the two lines (vertical and horizontal lines). The students asked to use pencils for this assignment. Homework (Sheet no 2) Students will ask to repeat same assignment as homework using ink pens.

Assignment objectives: 1- To train students how to use the drawings materials 2- To train students how to draw lines with constant thickness, and to draw lines similar to

each other’s. 3- To train students how to organize their sheets and put all necessarily information in proper

way. Method of evaluation The assignment evaluate out of 10 as follow:

1- net and clean sheet (2) 2- all information is available and written in proper way (2) 3- right way of drawings ( as asked) (3) 4- good differentiation between different lines ( main drawing lines, writing lines,

structure lines) (3)

Class no 3 Lettering:

The students introduced in this section to ways and methods of writing Arabic and English letters in proper way to write proper notes in the assignment sheets. Students will know more about the rules of Naskh and Reqaa in Arabic writing. In English writing will introduced to lettering stencil, Leroy scriber, and letterset. Class work (Sheet no.3) The student will asked to draw the frame as the learned in the first assignment and divide the working area in the drawing sheet to two identical rectangles. In addition, they will write in the left an English text and in the right an Arabic Naskh text. Students will use the pencils in this assignment. Homework (sheet no. 4) Students will ask to repeat same assignment as homework using ink pens except the Arabic text will be in Reqaa. Assignment objectives: 1-To train students how to use the drawings materials 2-To train students how to write in a decent way an English and Arabic text. 3-To train students how to organize their sheets and put all necessarily information in proper way. Method of evaluation The assignment evaluate out of 10 as follow: 1- Net and clean sheet (2) 2- All information is available and written in proper way (2) 3- Writing in a right way (as asked) (3) 4- Good differentiation between different lines (main text, writing lines, structure lines) (3)

Different examples will be explained during the class using the most popular architectural scales in used such as: 1:20 1: 50 1:100 1:200 1:500 1:1000 1:10000 The students also introduce to the level of detailed should be shown in each level of the different scales Students works during the class and submit the class work using pencil, the homework should submit in ink. Class work (sheet no. 5) The student will asked to draw the frame as the learned in the first assignment and divide the working area in the drawing sheet to two identical rectangles. The student asked to draw 10 different lines in different scales. In the right part of the working area two different shapes given with given dimensions, students asked to draw the shapes in different scales. This class work submitted in pencil drawings. Homework (sheet no. 6) The student will asked to draw the frame as the learned in the first assignment and divide the working area into tour identical rectangles. Four different shapes are given and asked to draw them in different scales. This homework submitted in ink drawings. Assignment objectives: 1-To train students how convert the scale in reality to suitable drawing scale. 2- To train student how to use the scale ruler. 3-To train students how to organize their sheets and put all necessarily information in proper way. Method of evaluation The assignment evaluate out of 10 as follow: 1- Net and clean sheet (2) 2- All information is available and written in proper way (2) 3- Apply the assignment rightly (as asked) 4) 4- Good differentiation between different lines (main text, writing lines, structure lines) (2)
