  • Decisions for 8th Grade Honors courses will be made based on the grade averages attained at the conclusion of this school year.

    Honors students are expected to be capable of independent work and to demonstrate higher level critical thinking skills.

    • A cumulative grade of an A- and be reading and writing at a level 4.

    • Students are expected to have work published outside of school.

  • Social Studies

    * A cumulative grade of an A- and be reading and writing at a level 3. However, it’s recommended that students be reading and writing at a level 4.**A component of the social studies honors class is completion of an independent research project, history day.

    **A cumulative grade of an A- and be reading and writing at a level 3. **Students must take 8th grade honors to be eligible to take 9th grade biology. **A component of the science honors class is completion of an independent research project/science fair project.
