SHOULD IT BE NECESSARY TO TRENCH WITHINTHE TPZ ALL TRENCHES SHALL BE HAND DUG.NO ROOTS LARGER THAN TWO INCHES (2")SHALL BE CUT UNLESS NO OTHERALTERNATIVE IS FEASIBLE. ALL SMALLERROOTS THAT REQUIRE CUTTING SHALL BE CUTWITH PRUNING SAWS. CUTS SHALL BE MADEFLUSH WITH THE SIDE OF THE TRENCH. IF ATANY TIME TWENETY-FIVE PERCENT (25%) OFTHE AREA WITHIN THE TPZ IS BEINGSEPARATED FROM THE TREE BY A TRENCH,THEN THE LINE SHALL BE EITHER RELOCATEDOR INSTALLED BY BORING.

REMOVAL OF HARDSCAPE MATERIALS FROMWITHIN THE TPZ SHALL BE DONE MANUALLY.

THE MINIMUM DISTANCE BETWEEN AN OPENTRENCH AND ANY TREE SHALL BE BETWEENSIX INCHES (6") TO ON FOOT (1') FOR EVERYINCH OF TRUNK DIAMETER MEASURED ATFOUR AND A HALF FEET (4 1/2") ABOVEEXISTING GRADE, DEPENDING ON THESPECIES OF TREE. MINIMUM CLEARANCESHALL BE TEN FEET (10') FROM THE TRUNK OFTHE TREE.

IN THE EVENT ROOT PRUNING IS REQUIRED TOACCOMMODATE GRADE CHANGES OR THEINSTALLATION OF HARDSCAPE FEATURES THEROOT PRUNING PROCEDURES DESCRIBED INTHIS OUTLINE SHOULD BE FOLLOWED.
