Inside this issue:

Every year that goes by it seems is filled with wishes. There are things we wished

we would have done, and some we wished we hadn’t done. There was time spent doing things that we thought were important and now see that the time spent was really wasted in relation to what is really important. The wish we could do it over. Time is one of those things that there is never enough of. Time as we understand from scripture is to be considered as the period between two eternities. There is eternity before we are born. When we are born, we enter into time, and when we die, we are no longer constrained by time as we enter into eternity. So our lives are briefly a measurement of time between eternities. In scripture time is measured in years, months, weeks, days and moments. We read in Ecclesiastes chapter 3, “There is an appointed time for everything. And there is a time for every event under heaven:

A time to be born and a time to die.”

I guess my thought on this that I would like to convey to all of you is that the time we have is short in the scope of eternity. Even if we are blessed with long life, the years go by so quickly

and they pass us by without our notice, until we see how many have gone under the bridge. James says, “What is your life?” I guess we don’t like to consider the question. Our life is “a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes.” He says we make too many plans without the consideration of what could happen. We are to fully understand that life happens as the Lord wills. Moses in the Psalms said, “As for the days of our life, they contain seventy years, or if due to strength, eighty years.” I guess I am trying to instill in you the briefness of life and the necessity of you finding salvation in the Lord Jesus Christ

during your short stint here on this planet.

Proverbs chapter 9 we read, “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. For by Me

your days will be multiplied, and years of life will be added to you.”

Knowing the LORD is truly the most important mission of your life. Trusting Jesus Christ to take your sin on Himself and cleanse you from sin is life changing. He will change you. Take this year, 2019, spend more time than you ever did in God’s Word. Spend more time than you ever did in prayer with the Savior of your soul. “Seek the Lord while He may be found; call upon Him while He is near.” (Isaiah 55:6) I have talked a lot about repentance. This is your year. The Lord is calling. Please ask Him to save your soul. It is time. Have a most blessed New

A huge thank you goes out to each member of the Wesley Chapel church family who donated baked goods, money or time to make the New Generation Christmas basket project a success again this year. Friday evening the baskets were assembled for delivery. Many folks turned out to help and all was done within a short time. A special thanks goes to Pam and Gary Weimer for all their work organizing and for the donation of the tote bags. This year the fruit and goodies were packed into bright red totes with a Christmas verse printed on the side. A total of 33 totes were assembled for delivery. The financial end is covered by BBQ monies. A total of 12 gift cards for Wal-Mart or Giant Eagle was dispersed with some of the totes. Thanks again for the generosity

CHURCH COUNCIL The first quarterly church council meeting for 2019 is scheduled for January 17th at 7:00 p.m. Committees will meet at 6:15 p.m. Newly elected committee members are

encouraged to attend.

Beginning January 12, the men will be starting a study around breakfast and fellowship called “The End of Me” by Kyle Idleman. The 4 lesson study will continue on Saturday, February 2 & 16, and March 9. You are encouraged to join the group.

Dear family & friends of Wesley Chapel,

I am in the earliest stages of starting a project dealing with Wesley Chapel’s past. We are in a time of year when many people will be in their attics, basements and storage areas. With that in mind, I would like to let everyone know that after the first of the year I would like to start copying and collecting copies of photographs of members who have passed away, from the founding of the church to present day. This collection of photographs will be used for a presentation around Memorial Day. Anyone having photographs, please let me know. In January, I will begin

collecting them.

CONGRATULATIONS AND GOD’S BLESSINGS to the family of Caleb Wilson Pritts who was born Friday, December 14, 2018 at Magee Hospital. He weighed 7 lb. and was 20 1/4 inches long. Caleb is the second child born to Todd II, & Kayt Pritts. He is little brother to his sister Claire. Caleb is the grandson of Todd and Tracy Pritts and Rev. John & Ann Phipps.

FOR EVERYTHING A SEASON Wanting his sons to learn not to judge too quickly, a man sent each, in turn, on a quest to look at a pear tree far away and report what he saw. The first son went in winter, the second in spring, the third in summer and the fourth in fall. Finally, the father gathered the young men together. “What did you see?” he asked. The first son reported seeing an ugly tree, bent and lifeless. The second disagreed, saying it was budding with fresh new life. The third son reported finding a tree laden with sweet-smelling, beautiful blossoms, while the fourth insisted it drooped with ripe fruit. The father said his sons were all correct, for they’d seen the same tree, though at different seasons of its life. “Don’t judge a tree — or a person — based on just one season of life,” he counseled his children. “Who

they are can only be known at the end, when all life’s seasons have been lived. “Furthermore,” he added, “don’t give up on your own life if you experience a hard season, such as winter, or you’ll miss out on the renewal of spring, the joy of summer, the fulfillment of autumn.”

Dear Wesley Chapel Church family,

We wanted to take a moment an thank you for your kindness and generosity towards our family. We are overwhelmed by your love and, most importantly, your prayers. This journey is not an easy one for any family to make, but having friends and family who are praying for us and supporting us means everything. Our plan is to spend Christmas at home. Then after New Years, Ally will be admitted to Children’s Hospital for 4-6 weeks to receive a high dose chemotherapy and a bone marrow transplant. We are praying that the treatment will cure her. Agosto connected with Helping Hands, an OMS ministry to people with disabilities in Mozambique, near the end of 2016. He lost a leg due to a train accident when he was a child. Although a new believer himself, he is one of our most active volunteers, and he hosts a

Bible study every Friday evening in his home.

Jacinto (pictured) is 10 years old and lives with his mom and older siblings. Helping Hands provided him with his first wheelchair last Christmas. So now, Jacinto can play outside with the other children. This has been a huge

blessing to the family!

Helping Hands has compassionately impacted many lives, like Agosto’s and Jacinto’s,

physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

This Christmas season, we offer eight tangible

ways you can give above and beyond to be the hands and feet of

The Agape children presented their Christmas program on Sunday morning, December 16th during the Sunday school hour. Based on “A Charlie Brown Christmas,” and under the direction of Mark and Angie Millin, the children performed “The True Meaning of Christmas.” The

sanctuary was filled with family and friends and time of refreshments and fellowship followed. Many thanks to Mark & Angie for the awesome
