Make some noise!

New Employee Orientation

• Today at 4 p.m. residents are encouraged to “shout your thanks” to the PVE team members.

• Residents in independent living are encouraged to come outside a little before 4 p.m. and get ready for “noise making.” Residents living in homes should set up in their driveways (making sure to stay at least 6 feet from their neighbors).

• Those living in apartments should set up on their balconies or patios. Bring some noise making “equipment” like pots and pans, horns, etc. (You can even blow your car horn).

LeadingAge story about PVE

New Employee Orientation

• PVE was recognized by LeadingAge as a community promoting resident engagement during social isolation during the Coronavirus pandemic.

• The story is titled “Easter Preparations Help Residents Celebrate the Holiday.” The pre-recorded Easter service, Easter golf cart parade, and goodie bags are all part of the story.

• We will post a link to the story on PVE Pulse.

Questions

New Employee Orientation

• If you have any questions, contact Director of Communications and Technology Jeff Rausis at [email protected].

• We may include answers to your questions in our next communication.

If we have a case at PVE

New Employee Orientation

• If we have any confirmed cases of COVID-19—whether it be a resident, team member, or vendor—we will alert everyone immediately.

•Elvie Gabionza, our Infection Preventionist, has a detailed plan in place and has already initiated our surge plan as a precaution, and we are ready to admit residents with the virus.

If we have a case at PVE (contd.)

New Employee Orientation

•Our quarantine policy has been in place since March 17. We have already quarantined residents who were possibly exposed (all have tested negative).

•Anyone infected will be isolated immediately, and we will continue to protect all residents and team members with our standard social distancing and screening protocols.

Tips from the Mask Makers

New Employee Orientation

• The Mask Makers will start making masks for residents once all the team members have masks. Until then, here are other types of masks suggested by Robert Lunning that you can wear:

o Dust Mask: Use a dust mask like the kind used in work shops or the kind used during the fires two years ago. PVE passed out nice masks during that time. You may have one hidden in a closet that you forgot about.

o Bandana: Cut an old t-shirt, shirt or night gown into a two-foot square piece of fabric (two feet on each side). No sewing necessary. Fold it one time into a large triangle. Place it over your nose and tie a knot behind your head with the two corners. If tying the knot behind you head is too difficult, tie the knot in front of your face and spin the bandanna so the knot is in the back of your head. Gas

New Employee Orientation

• If your car is getting low on gas, contact Maintenance at 707-432-1160.

•Maintenance is keeping a few full cans for residents who need a couple of gallons for driving around campus.

Reminder: Canceling Housekeeping Services

New Employee Orientation

• Although Housekeeping services have been reinstated at PVE, residents can opt-out.

• Contact Debbie Bacon at [email protected] 707-474-2114 if you’d like to cancel or reschedule Housekeeping services.
