increase safety and improve traffic flow.
WHAT’S BEING DONE? This project will realign 190th Street (County Road 62) approaching the intersection at Northfield Boulevard (County Road 47) in Vermillion Township. This project also includes drainage improvements, adding turn lanes along 190th Street (County Road 62) and Northfield Boulevard (County Road 47) and the resurfacing of 190th Street (County Road 62) from just east of Riverview Avenue to Northfield Boulevard (County Road 47).
WHEN WILL WORK TAKE PLACE? Construction is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, May 20 and last for about a week. The construction of the intersection will begin with the closure of the intersection on July 6. Work on the project will wrap up in August 2020. Private utilities (electric, telephone, cable, etc.) will be relocating some of their facilities throughout project limits as well.
WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT? Work will begin with the mill and overlay on 190th Street from just east of Riverview Avenue to County Road 47. After July 6, tree removal, as necessary, and installation of erosion control devices will occur. Grading, pipe work, replacement of box culverts (these are the big concrete boxes that go under the road and are used for drainage) and paving will follow. Road closures will be required for the Contractor to work on the intersection of the road after Monday, July 6. A detour will be posted. A detour map is included on the back. Access to residences will remain open throughout construction; however, access may be limited to only one direction.
