Curriculum:Our curriculums are especially designed to develop highly competitive graduates through the collaborations with world-class companies and academic institutes. our study programs constitute of both essential fundamental and diverse elective courses which enhance students on their specialty. In the graduate level, we provide two master programs and a doctorate program. Northern Region IT Finishing School IT Industry has become one of the main revenue for Thailand. Therefore, our Computer Engineering Department together with National Electronics and Computer Technology Center (NECTEC) organized the Northern Region IT Finishing School project aiming to enhance the software design and development skill for Thai IT professions. The target group of this project is IT employees, newly graduated students and current undergraduate students in Chiang Mai. We anticipate that this project will help increasing the numbers of IT professions in Chiang Mai.

National Software Contest (NSC)National Software Contest (NSC) is the largest software development competition in Thailand.The northern region NSC is annually organized by the Department of Computer Engineering of Chiang Mai University, sponsored by National Electronics and Computer Technology (NECTEC). This competition aims to strengthen software development proficiency as well as innovation and creativities among students in both high school and university levels.

OLPC One Laptop Per ChildA low-cost $�00 laptop was originally established by MIT Professor Nicholas Negroponte. His goal is to provide the opportunities for the children around the world (especially in developing countries) to have the ability to access to global resources and technology.

Software Professional Incubation Center (SPIC) Software Professional Incubation Center (SPIC) represents a strong collaboration between Software Industry Promotion Agency (Public Organization) and Faculty of Engineering, Chiang Mai University on their mission to promote northern Thailand’s software industry and initiating entrepreneurs. Participants of this project are allocated

essential infrastructure and equipments. They are also offered a number of intensive trainings on both technical and business knowledge.

Automatic Dimension Inspection System in Pivot ArmThe dimension of a pivot arm, an important part in a hard disk drive, needs to be extremely precise so that the performance of the device can be guaranteed. In order to remove major problems which occur from traditional manual inspection, an automatic dimension inspection system which can precisely measure dimensions of pivot arms is developed. The accuracy and performance of this new system is validated by data set collected from LTEC Ltd. Fujikura Group. This project was sponsored by National Electronics and Computer Technology Center (NECTEC).

Thailand firstly received approximately �00 OLPCs in �006. Currently, Dr. Arnan Sipitakiat, lecturer at Computer Engineering Department, Chiang Mai University is now working with Suksapat Foundation on how to use the OLPCs efficiently in Thai learning environment. OLPC has been given in many schools in the northern region of Thailand such as in Bansankampeng School in Chiang Mai province, Ban SamKha School and Tessaban � School in Lampang province, and Ban Khayeng School in Chiang Rai province. In addition, Computer Engineering Department, Chiang Mai University is the Northern Thailand OLPC Support Center.โครงการคอมพวเตอร 100 เหรยญโครงการน จดตงโดย Professor Nicholas Negroponte โดยมงหวงใหเดกในประเทศดอยพฒนาไดมโอกาสเขาถงเทคโนโลย ไดอยางทวถง โดยประเทศไทยนนไดรบเครองคอมพวเตอร OLPC เปนครงแรกเมอป 2549 จำนวนประมาณ 400 เครอง โดยอาจารย ดร. อานนท สหพทกษเกยรต อาจารยประจำภาควชาวศวกรรมคอมพวเตอร รวมมอกบมลนธศกษาพฒน ในการศกษาแนวทางและวางรากฐานการเรยนรผานเครอง OLPC น โดยไดนำเครอง OLPC ไปทดลองใชในหลายๆ โรงเรยนในเขตพนทภาคเหนอ อาทเชน โรงเรยนบานสนกำแพง จงหวดเชยงใหม โรงเรยนบาน สามขาและโรงเรยนเทศบาลส จงหวดลำปาง และ โรงเรยนบานขาแหยงจงหวดเชยงราย นอกจากน ทางภาควชาวศวกรรมคอมพวเตอร ยงเปนศนยซอมบำรงตวเครอง OLPC ทนำไปใชในโรงเรยนตางๆ เหลานอกดวย

ระบบตรวจสอบขนาดอตโนมตใน Pivot Armสวนประกอบทสำคญสงหนงในการผลต Hard Disk Drive คอ Pivot Arm ขนาดในแตละดานของ Pivot Arm จำเปนทจะตองเปนไปตามมาตรฐาน ในปจจบนอตสาหกรรมผลต Pivot Arm ใชพนกงานทำการวดขนาดเหลานน

ซงเมอเวลาการทำงานผานไป พนกงานอาจเกดความเมอยลา ทำใหเกดการผดพลาดในการวดทำใหเกดผลเสยตามมา ดงนนเราจงพฒนาระบบตรวจสอบขนาดอตโนมต โดยทระบบนสามารถวดขนาดของ Pivot Arm ในดานทตองการได และเราไดทดสอบระบบกบขอมลทเกบมาจาก บรษท LTEC Ltd.
