WELCOME TO COPENHAGEN

INVITATIONAL

It is a great pleasure for me as president of

Vrlse Basketball Club to welcome you all

to for three days filled with top level bas-

ketball.

We are proud to say that this is the first

tournament here in Denmark that has

been approved by FIBA Europe. This is the

eight year running we host the tourna-

ment, highlighting basketball at an interna-

tional level right here in our own communi-

ty.

I would like thank all of our sponsors for

your great support. Without you this event

would not have been possible. We can feel

a great increase in support this year. We

are proud to be linked with both local and

national based companies. A big thank you

to both the municipality of Fures and

Rudersdal, as well as Skjold Birkerd Bas-

ketball for providing great facilities for this

huge event.

I would also like to say thank you to all the

volunteers for your invaluable contribu-

tion. Without you, there would be no Co-

penhagen Invita-

tional.

VELKOMMEN Det er mig en re at byde velkommen p vegne af Rudersdal Kommune til alle de mange aktive og frivillige i rets Co-penhagen Invitational Basketball.

Vi glder os til at se de mange internati-onale talenter folde sig ud i vores haller og reprsentere deres sport. Basketball er en stor sport i de fleste af landene omkring os og er som pengesport kun overget af fodbold i hele Europa. Derfor er det imponerende, at det er lykkedes for syvende r i trk at f hele den spi-rende internationale elite hertil. Potenti-alet til et gennembrud for sporten her-hjemme er der, med unge danske spille-re i flere ligaer rundt i verden og det er interessen for Copenhagen Invitational Basketball ogs et tegn p. Fra store dele af verden er jnene nu rettet her til for at se, hvem der bliver morgendagens stjerner.

Her i kommunen stter vi stor pris p det enorme frivillige arbejde, der ligger bag turneringen fra de to klubber, Birke-rd Basketball Klub og Vrlse Basket-ball Klub. 200 frivillige har i mnedsvis knoklet og orkestreret denne turnering p plads. Det fortjener al mulig respekt og psknnelse, for det er arrangemen-ter af denne type, der gr vores lokal-samfund levende og inspirerende for vores brn og unge og stter vores byer p landkortet.

DEAR ALL I want to welcome you all to the Munici-pality of Fures and the international youth basketball competition.

We are very happy to have so many young people visiting us and hope very much you will enjoy your stay here.

This event has attracted more and more young basketballplayers over the years and we are now hosting more than 600 participants from 13 different countries. I am very proud of this achievement by the Vrlse Basketball Club and all the volunteers who made it all possible.

I hope that you, apart from playing a lot of basketball, also get time to socialise, meet new friends and spend some time sightseeing in our municipality which is very green and beautiful this time of ye-ar.

I wish you all a pleasent stay and may the best team win.
