Day Trip Suggestion: Dublin Bay Prawn Festival in Howth

Howth is set to be Ireland’s culinary capital from April 1st to 3rd when the Dublin Bay Prawn

Festival hits town. Howth’s lovely restaurants, outstanding food suppliers and farmers’ marketall contribute to creating a fabulous food destination at any time of the year. However to

showcase all Howth has to offer, Festival organisers are packing this festival with all sorts of 

extra fun and food filled activities, centred of course around the iconic Dublin Bay Prawn.

A “Street Food Fair” will be the centre of the action on Saturday afternoon as Restaurants and

Local producers alike take their wares to the street for sampling Prawns in a myriad of ways as

well as other tasty bites. There will of course be the ever-popular

cookery demonstrations for all those budding cooks in the

audience; wine-tasting events and the fishmongers will all

demonstrate their remarkable filleting and shelling skills.
