In the book, Crash is actually the nickname ofthe main character. His realname is John Coogan. In the beginning he is a self- centered person, and he onlu,caresabout the price tagonthe shirts andthings hebuys. When hewas around 6in kindergarten, just about to start first grade, he meets a new kid that had justmoved from North Dakota to Pennsylvania. His name was Penn Webb. Ever sincethey met in first grade, Crash has bullied Penn. Penn is a Quaker and he only hasa jarofmud from a river. He doesn't care about toys and is avegetarian. Abby isCrash's little sister and she has WILD dreams. She wants to have a wildlife

preserve in herbackyard. Even though Crash and Penn are the main characters,Abby is oneof thecharacters that make Crash, well, Crash. Just how Crashreacts and reflects toAbby just shows you how Crash's characteristics are. Backtothe book, when things startchanging will Crash be one ofthe things thatchange?

Por the actors and actresses, you'll need a few dozen. For the first partyou will need 2kids, both male, who will play Crash and Penn when they were firstgraders and a4-year-old girl, who will play Abby. Y'or the middle part ofthebook, you'll need 3seventh graders who wili play Penn, Crash, and Crash's bestfriend, Mike. Also 1more, agirl this time, who will play Jane Forbs, agirl whothinks crash is stuck up, but Crash falls hard over her. Also an old man who willplay Scooter, Crash's grand pa. when you pick an actor for Crash, make sure heis physically fit, because he is going tobe a football player.

Ithink that people will really enjoy this transition ofCrash, for one reason,the movie has a lesson embedded in it. It has the right dose offunny, sad,touching, yet delighting. Ithink that the audience would really be able to connectto the movie. Iam positive that at least %>0% ofyour audience would have read the

Hello, my name is Celina Tran. I am a student at P.S. 184,a Blue Ribbon school.I think that the book .Crash by Jerry Spinelli is a very good book, so good thatpeople might want to see it as a movie! You will probably be an excellent moviedirector. I have seen the other movies you directed, such as Home Aloneandthought that they were very funny and has the important parts in them too. Justlike what we need for this movie. I think that it should be filled with comedy butalso have the serious parts in them.

The book is about this boy John Coogan, nicknamed Crash. He bullies kids, a boycalled Penn Webb is his favorite target. Crash joins football, while Penn joinscheerleading. One day, his grandpa, Scooter comes home and he is overjoyed.Scooter tells Crash and Abby ,Crash's little sister stories, his bed is also thesafest placeto them. After a while, Scooter has a stroke and Crash'sattitudechanges, he is nicer to Penn. In the spring, Crash and Penn both join the trackteam. There is a famous track meet called the Penn Relays, and the coach chosethe three 8th graders to compete in the race. There is one spot left and the 6th and7th graders compete to see who gets the last spot. Crash and Penn are in the lead,but Crash lets Penn win. He regretted what he had done though, until the principalannounced that Penn brought the teamto 2nd place. Penn and Crash become bestfriends.

Crash isa 7th grader who thinks that he is very cool. He bullies kids for his ownamusement, Penn being his favorite target. Crash also cares a lot about being cooland clothes. Throughout the story, his grandpa gets a stroke and he changes. Hestarts being nicer to Penn, he doesn't bully him anymore. He even gave back Penn'sessay after someone crumpled it to tease him. Healso made Abby catfish cakes forher birthday party. I think that the 13 year old version of Macaulay Culkin would bea good actor to be Crash.

Abby is a determined type, she is also not afraid to speak her mind. In the book,she talks back to her parents when they scold her about not letting the ChemLawnguy spray the lawn with chemicals. She is determined to do everything shecould toget the backyard to turn into a natural habitat. I think that 10 year old version ofHillary Wolf will do a good job as being Abby.

Penn is a naive , forgiving, and an open-minded kid, his parents are old-fashionedso he doesn't believe in violence and wants to "preserve" the world. He doesn't wantthe mall to come, so he and his group go to protest. When he moved into town, hedidn't even become"friends" with Crash and he already told everything abouthimself to him. Penn never realized all the modern inventions that he was missingout on. He always is nice to everyone, no matter how manytimes they bullied him.He even wished Crash luck before the race. The 13 year old version of Kieran Culkinwould be a good "Penn".

I truly think that you will make an excellent movie director for this movie. HomeAlone was full of comedy, but it also had the serious parts as well. When the maincharacter Kevin learns his lesson about family, it was a serious part in the movie.The book Crash had some funny parts in it too, but the serious parts are just asimportant. I think that you made the serious parts about Kevin learning his lessonimportant.

I believe that you can be a fantastic movie director for the movie, Crash. Youhave the skills to direct and make a good movie. You can give plenty of pleasure tothe Crash-fans out in the world. Make the movie and even please the author of thisbook, let him know that many readers love his books. This book has a good lessonand everyone should know it. The book has some serious moments like when Crash's grandpa has a stroke and some

One of the characters is Crash. He is the main character. He is a big, strong, and

fast person. He loves football. He is a immature person in the beginning who acts so

tough. Then at the end he becomes a nicer person and more mature. Therefore you need

an actor just like him who is big and tall for a 13 year old who is in 7,h grade or you can

have someone older than that. Another important character is Penn Web. He is scrawny

but great at running person. He is the person Crash plays pranks on. They met in lsl grade.

He and crash is in the same 7th grade class. He isalso a Quaker. This means that he

doesn't fight. He is also a vegetarian. That's why you need an actor just like him. A third

character important to the book is Abby. She is Crash's sister. But she is totally different

from him. She is a peace loving girl who doesn't eat anything that has a face on it. She

wants to save the nature. She is in fifth grade. She is very talkative and nice. She likes

cheering people up. Therefore you will need a actress like her.

I think you should make a movie form of this book because is has suspense and

also a bit funny. People liked reading the book so people would enjoy a movie version of

the book too! People also love watching movies like this. People love watching suspense

movies about peoples life. So I think you should make the movie.

My name is Emily Zhou. I am a 6 grader from P.S 184 Shuang Wen School. I have watched your

movies, "Bedtime Stories" and "Mairspray". I really like both movies, though I only watched "Bedtime

Stories", but I'm dying to watch "Mairspray". A lot of people say it's a wonderful movie. My class just

finished the book "Crash" by Jerry Spinelli. and I think it would be a terrific movie. "Crash" is a humorousand fun book, so I think it would be a great comedy movie. I think you can make this into a great moviebecause your movie "Bedtime Stories" shows how imagination is so important. Therefore, in this movieyou can make it show how much friendship is important. Since "Bedtime Stories" and "Ilairspray" were agreat hit. I bet you can make this into a blockbuster hit!

Crash is your average popular guy at school, a jock, football star, and a bully. Ile looks down at

people who aren't as rich and talented as him. lie likes to pick on geeky nerdy guys like Penn Web. Thereare 2 words to describe Penn Webb, naive and weird. Throughout the book, the character that changes the

most is Crash. In Ihe beginning, he's the rich, vain football star, but toward the end he's a total completelyguy. He steps in Penn's shoes and sees in Penn's point of view. Crash learns that the way he acted, was just

to impress people he looks up to. He experiences what never happened to him before. Everything's coming

at once. His sister is becoming a girl version of Penn. someone that has been in his heart ail his life, his

grandfather, is recovering from a serious stroke. That felt like a stab in his heart, his grandfather can'tremember the strong loving bond between him and Crash. At the end 2 completely different guys end up to

be the best friends ever.

I would suggest choosing Dylan Sprouse as the role of Crash. He plays one of the twins in the

show on Disney Channel "Suite life on Deck". Dylan plays the role ofZack the funny, naughty, jock twin.Usually the episode might be about how Zack does something wrong and he messed up or he hurt

someone's feelings, and it's up to him to change what he did that he regrets doing.

For the role of Penn. I suggest a younger role of Gaelan Council. Gaelan Council plays the geekyguy in "Bandslam". Gaelan Council looks funny and nerdy. he would be perfect, lie also teaches a lessonto other people, which was kind of similar to Penn's lesson. "Looks can surprise you"

For the role of Abby. Crash's random cute sister. I would suggest Allisyn Ashley Arm. plays Zora

Lancaster in "Sonny with a Chance" on Disney Channel. Zora is a funny and unpredictable little girl thatyou can't judge by her size. Zora is always surprising and random. She's got attitude and she fights backfor what she believes in. She's determined and very optimistic. This is exactly how Abby is like in the story.

Since this movie was published in 1997. for a movie in 2009 it would be even better if you gave ita 2009 twist. In the story, they used Sony Walkmans and they used cassettes. Maybe you can change theirappearance. You can change the way they talk like the accent and style. You can let the characters useitems like iPods. cell phones, laptops. DVD's.

I really think this would be such a successful movie, it teaches about prejudice in friendship,friendship, bullying and love. It would people stop and think about prejudice, and how people judge fromthe outside and not the inside. It also shows how different people can get along and be great friends. This

movie can make people slop and think how they treated someone like that and make people regret andchange theiractions. Ibis is why I think you shouldmake this story into a movie.

My name is Vincent, and I really love the work you do with Naruto. So I want to write amovie about "Crash" by Jerry Spinelli. We read this book as a class, and we really liked thisbook because it has a lot of awkward and hilarious parts to it. It really made us wonder and thinkhow can I boy do these entirely crazy thing. I really do think you can make this movieOutstanding!

Crash is about a boy who loves football and he's the MVP (Most Valuable Player) on histeam. He scored 6 touch downs in one school game, which proved he was good. Then he wentthrough a lot ofchanges in his life. His Grandfather came to live at his house an after a few yearsofstaying and then leaving. But then he gets a stroke trying to build Abby's tree fort where shecan watch her tiny jungle in the back yard. He thinks everything is different. He notices and hecares more. He doesn't torment Penn (a victim of Crash and Mike Deluca) anymore. He actuallyaccepted Penn's friendship that he was trying to create for the past few years.

I think Crash should be a kind ofan action and romance anime movie .There a lot of partsthat have a lot ofaction in it. Around the end, Crash becomes a no name like Penn. When Mike

steals Penn's turtle, Crash busted in his house and he had a little fight. Crash finds the turtlesomewhere in his room. When he tries to leave, Mike Blocks his way and keep punching him onhis chest like they always do as a greeting sign, but Crash Punches him hard, lifting him off hisfeet bumping against a wall his head on the bathroom wall. Another time was when he refusedto squirt Penn with a water jet UZI, which almost gave Penn pneumonia. There was a smallscene of romance but not exactly about romance. It was when Crash went to a ball and he sawJane Forbes (a girl he was crushing on) he was acting really cool but she rejecter everything andthen she finally lost her temper and slapped Crash and said some harsh words to him. When Pennarrived, she hung out with him like nothing happened which made crash jealous and angry.

Crash is like a complete jock. Some parts above prove he's a jock because he acts all coollike he's the only cool guy on the Earth. He acts all cool to Jane Forbes; he tries to impress herwhen she doesn't even care about him. When his team wont he game, he always act like he wonthe game when his teammates also helped. I would like to see a teen version ofa NFL player toplay Crash.

Penn Webb is like a total geek. He's always doing stuff that is really boring, and nobodyreally cares about him except for Abby, Jane, and his family. He's always wearing around theseweird buttons that says things like peace, and other weird sayings. I think a guy who really is aquaker (pacifist) should play Penn but make Crash and Penn the same age

Crash's Grandfather, scooter, was a very adventurous, strong, loving, and a great chef.He would always tell a story about his life every time he visits. He would cook up something thatwas delicious but sounded really unappetizing; and he use to be part of the navy, but he wasretired, so he told stories about those times too.

I really thing Crash would be a movie hit to people who enjoy humor. We thought it washilarious! Since we love it, probably middle school and people who read Crash would love them

The book "Crash" is about a seventh grade boy who has a nickname called "Crash."Crash and his friend Mike were always bullying Penn Webb. But Penn would neverfight back because he was a Quaker and he did not believe in violence. The problemin this story is solved when Crash's uncle named Scooter has a stroke and Crash beganto change. He became nicer and treated Penn as his buddy.

Crash is a very athletic person. He loves sports, especially football.-He was also ahot-shot and very proud of himself. Towards the end of the book, Crash became moreaware of his surrounding and became friendlier to everyone except Mike. The actorSean Penn would be a perfect actor to play Crash because Sean Penn has the bad-boyimage and a rebellious attitude.

I think actor Ben Stiller in the younger version would play the role ofPenn Webb well.Ben Stiller is good at expressing emotional feelings in his acting. He is funny and heexcels in his performance.

Finally, I believe actor John Travolta in the younger version would play the role ofMike well. This is because John can act very mean and bad and can make peopledislike him as a villain.
