KEY SCIENCE PROJECTS 2012-2013

Biodiversity

BEWATER promotes dialogue and collaboration between science and society for sustainable water ma-nagement and adapta-tion to the impacts of global change in the Mediterranean.

MENFRI is a dialogue and action platform in forestry, encouraging scientific and technological collaboration within the Mediterranean.

We do research in these four

areas:

Functional Ecology and Global Change

Forest Ecology and Wildfires

Landscape environmental analysis and GIS

Javier Retana Director

Anabel Sánchez

Enrique Doblas

MEDACC aims at testing innovative solutions in order to adapt agro-forests and urban systems to climate change in the Northern and Southern Mediterranean basin.

GEOVIQUA aims to augment GEOSS Common Infrastructure (GCI) with innovative quality-aware visualisation tools and geo-search capabilities.

MIRAMON is a Geographic Informa-tion System and Remote Sensing soft-ware that allows visualization, query, edition and analysis of raster, vector and Web Map Service layers.

LTER-SPAIN Network is a collaborati-ve effort involving scientists, managers and institutions helping to investigate ecological processes over long tempo-ral and broad spatial scales.

CAN BALASC is an infrastructure located in the Collserola Natural Park (Barcelona), which aims to become an international benchmark for monitor-ing and managing the impacts of global change in metropolitan green areas.
