Page 2: Crealde Summer Program Guide (Youth) 2014

Celebrating 32 years of creative excellence! Unleash your creativity and explore the joy of art making at Crealdé School of Art! Learn from professional artists in working art studios on our tropical, garden campus in the heart of Winter Park. There are one or two-week camp opportunities for ages 4 to 17. Young artists are placed in small, age based groups to ensure maximum individual attention. Experience a mix of art media including painting and drawing, ceramics, sculpture, printmaking and photography with all materials included in the tuition. Celebrate the end of summer with a colorful art exhibition in the Showalter Hughes Gallery featuring a work of art from each student. Opening reception is on Saturday, August 16, from 5 to 7 pm.

One week of half-days, morning or afternoon, filled with art experiences in a variety of media. These young artists enjoy three classes a day in sculpture, clay, and painting and drawing with a 10-minute break between each class.

Two-week camps of Multi-Media! Ages 8 to 12

Crealdé’s most popular pick! This comprehensive two-week session features full days of classes in painting, printmaking, photography, ceramics and sculpture. Camp meets Monday through Thurs-day from 9 am to 4:45 pm. Supervision provided until 5 p.m. Every day includes a class in each medium with tuition including all materials.

Ceramics: Create clay works of art using slab, coil, and pinching methods. Finish the pieces by decorating the surfaces with glaze and firing them in our kiln to make them last forever.

Painting and Drawing: Experiment with a variety of drawing and painting materials to learn the essentials including line, color, texture, shape, composition, and perspective.

Printmaking: Prints are works of art that can be produced in multiple impressions, each one an original. Explore a variety of printmaking techniques, including some that use Crealde’s printmaking press!

Photography: Use Crealdé’s 35mm cameras and handmade art cameras to compose photo-graphs, process film, print images and much more using the school’s recently renovated darkroom.

Sculpture: Use recycled objects, wood, Styro-foam, and more to develop new skills and explore new ways to construct three-dimensional art.
