Crean Lutheran High School Clubs on Campus 2014-2015 1. UNIQ President: Tae Woo (Eric) Kim Advisor: Mr. Fisher Description: Invent things that are helpful to surrounding environment such as school, house, and real life situations. Ultimate goal is to publish a patent which carries every members' ideas. Through working creatively and have activities that activates creativity, students can do creative thinking and working; thus affecting their normal life too. 2. Math Club President: Tim Nguyen Advisor: Mr. Cherry Description: Prepare members for mathematics competitions like Math madness, AMC, Purple Math, etc. 3. Chemistry Club President: Tim Nguyen Advisor: Mr. Reynolds and Mrs. Newman Description: -Allow Students to cultivate their interest in Chemistry in an informal environment, without the pressure from being grades, taking tests or the final exam. -Reinforce the relevance of Chemistry to club’s members’ everyday lives. -Introduce and familiarize members in the club of the future study and possibly employment in the Chemistry industry. -Offer members to have chances to do community services, internships and projects for colleges benefits, etc. 4. Crean Peer Group (CPG) President: Henry Chen Advisor: Mrs. Gasner Description: 1. To offer a system of mentor and mentee which can help new incoming students get to know the school better 2. To assist the international students communicate in English 3. To provide tutoring serves for those who need help in their academic area 4. To reduce the isolation of international students tend to experience in the school 5. To unite the international student body by regularly holding attractive events 6. To establish a system that efficiently connect the school and the international student body 7. To cultivate the sense of responsibility and leadership to the participants of the club 5. Odd Vestures President: Crystal An, Elisa Kim, Jamie Chin, Lucy Park, Katie Huang Advisor: Ms. Mcnab Description: Odd Vestures is a clothing club that was designed for supporting eating disorders. We get all of our clothes, jewelry, etc. from thrift stores or donations, in which we decorate and reinvent. After this process, we sell our clothes for fairly cheap prices and with the money we receive a portion will be donated to a eating disorder clinic called Montecatini. With the rest of the profits, there will be a portion in restocking for further sales and some for safe keeping in cases of emergencies. Our main purpose is to better a cause that has barely any recognition, a cause that we all believe in. In order to do this, students need to be engaged and happy to help out, so we took in clothes as a way to have fun and to get creative. 6. Model United Nations President: Jaewoo Park Advisor: Mr. Pietrolungo, Antonio Description: 1. To foster an appreciation for the globalized world 2. To identify issues and challenges caused by this globalization 3. Brainstorm and negotiate possible solutions to each of the issues 7. Teens Passionate for the Ocean (T.P.O.) President: Matthew Logsdon, Elizabeth Mitchell Advisor: Mr. Fisher Description: To raise awareness of endangered animals in our ocean and enjoy God's gift of the ocean. 8. Korean Praise Band President: Jaewoo Park Advisor: Mr. Von Campen Description: To praise our God with our given instruments. 9. Giving Children Hope

Clubs on Campus 2014-2015  President: Sherry Liang Advisor: Ms. McNab Description: Giving Children Hope Club is based on an none profit organization-Giving Children Hope, which has been set up in various local communities. The main purpose for me to set up this club is to advertise this fantastic organization and welcome more people to pay attention to the global issues on children and give their hand to help improve children's life all over the world. The faith-based, not-for-profit, non-political partner providing sustainable hope through wellness programs and disaster response in collaboration with local and global communities. For Giving Children Hope, no help is too small. No effort is too big. 10. Tutor Time President: Matthew Orgill Advisor: Mr. Cherry Description: Gather teacher approved student tutors' information in order to make it easy for students and parents to get a hold of tutors that could work at Crean during free blocks or after school. 11. Food, Friends, Fellowship President: Tyler Koski Advisor: Mr. Worthington Description: The group will cater to the school once a month (possibly twice if successful). Participants will pay for tickets in order to eat. We are not planning on making any proceeds but if there happens to be any the money will be donated to organizations whose goal is to feed the homeless. 12. Computer Science Club President: Ryan Vosbigian Advisor: Mr. Cherry Description: The main purpose is to program computers. We will learn how to code in different languages and maybe even build and code robots. 13. Cancer Awareness Club President: Chris Park Advisor: Ms. Howe Description: Our purposes will be to raise cancer awareness and to fundraise for cancer research. We will also spread God’s message through our actions, and encourage fellow believers to trust God by letting caregivers and patients know that God will be there for them, and that their prayers will help. Our

major goal is to help make a world where no one will ever have to hear that they have cancer. 14. Do Something President: Luisa Kim, Winnie Xiao, Josie Williams, Jessica Carolina, Jamie Chin Advisor: Ms. Leah Hodgers Description: To promote human rights, and increase awareness of things that concern world issues. We will have campaigns and fund raisers to support those who go through hardship relating to sexism, racism and bullying. Do Something is an actual organization that exists in New York, and we are planning on doing some of the activities done by the actual organization. 15. CLHS Dance Club President: Rachel (Jiarui) Zhang, Karin (Shiqi) Qin Advisor: Mrs. Jones Description: 1. We will develop our school's dance to verity styles, which have K-pop, Chinese traditional dance, Korean traditional dance and modern dance. 2. Students who don't have time to dance in school can join us, and we will give them the chance to performance. 3. Volunteering in church 4. Give all students the opportunities to try to dance 16. Red Cross Club President: Kevin Kim Advisor: Mrs. Deyke Description: The Crean Lutheran High School branch of the American Red Cross serves a volunteer group. We hold weekly meeting on campus and provide many opportunities for students to give back to their community through fundraising, blood donations, and volunteer. 17. Chinese Education Program President: Zixiang (Toby) Zhou, Hailin (Lynn) Yao Advisor: Mr. Wrasman Description: 1. The group is designed to make more students to know Chinese and learn some about it instead of in Chinese class but with some Chinese students. 2. Go to Irvine Chinese School every Sunday to teach elementary students to learn Chinese. 18. Random Sports Club President: Brystan Bailey

This club is for all students who want to get to know new people and have fun. It can be good exercise, and a way to learn about fun sports you have never played. 19. Fashion Club President: Brystan Bailey Advisor: Mrs. Gasner Description: The main purpose of fashion club is giving students the opportunity to learn about and create fashion in a Christian environment. It teaches the students how to dress and an appreciation for fashion in a Godly way through projects, outings, and studying trends. It is a way to still express your style while attending a uniform school. 20. Creative Thinking Club President: Joy Zhang Advisor: Ms. Vining Description: The inspiration of thinking, the skil of thinking deeper on a topic, and observe problem in different point of views. 21. HALO Dance for Autism President: Ashley Zhang Advisor: Ms. Jones Description: The HALO club is a branch of a non-profit organization that utilizes the art of dance to promote awareness, knowledge, and funding to families affected by autism. The main purpose of our club is to raise awareness for autism and to put on fundraisers to help the foundation. The main event is an annual show the foundation puts on featuring dance talent from top professionals, colleges, studios, high school dance teams, and celebrity performers. Last year, Aubrey Walsh and I performed at the show. It was an eye-opening experience and we have been inspired to start a club on our campus ever since. 22. Peace singing club President: Michelle Shen, Lucy liu,Grace Lou Advisor: Mr. Bareford Description: 1. We are not just for Chinese people, we are opening this club for all students. We can teach American students how to singing Chinese song and how to say Chinese. 2. We want let members singing some songs they

Grace Club President: Grace Lou/Michelle Shen Advisor: Mr. Von Kampen Description: People who can play instruments can join this club. The instruments can be piano, violin, guitar, flute or other instruments. Mostly the music score is about pop music (include scripture song), so that the singing club also can cooperate sometimes, and also, the dancing club can cooperate, too. 25. The Shred Club President: Andrew Foss Advisor: Mr. Worthington Description: The purpose of this group is to gather students in fellowship as we surf and skate. 26. Through cooking experience with peers, we would use food as an cultural exchange and understand the history of food for special festival events such as Christmas, Lunear new year, Holloween and etc. 2. We are going to set several positions in the club such as vice presidents and different departments’ heads to help students who wish to build their leadership. 29.
