While one Outlook e-mail profile (Outlook e-mail profile: A profile is what Outlook uses to remember the e-mail
accounts and the settings that tell Outlook where your e-mail is stored. is all most people ha!e or re"uire# others
might find it useful to ha!e more than one. $or e%ample# you might keep one profile for your work accounts separate
from a profile for your personal data# due to pri!acy concerns or office policies.
&f you ha!e multiple profiles# you can configure Outlook to prompt you to choose a profile when started. Or# you can
a!oid the prompt by creating a desktop shortcut that allows you to launch directly a particular profile as needed. 'his
article presumes you ha!e multiple Outlook profiles and will demonstrate how you can enable one-click launch of a
specific profile.

← Once you ha!e an Outlook profile open# you can easily switch from one Outlook profile to another as
needed.

of Windows allows creation of shortcuts by this same method.
)eed to find your profile name*
+ou will need the name of the profile you want to launch with the icon you create. 'o find your profile name:
← $rom the Start menu# open Control Panel and from there open Mail.
← Click the Show Profiles... button. 'his shows a list of a!ailable profiles. )ote the name of the one for
which you wish to create a desktop icon# noting case and any special characters.
,. ight-click on the desktop# point to New# then click Create Shortcut.
. &n the Create Shortcut dialog bo%# in Type the location for the item# enter "C:\Program
iles\Microsoft Office\Office!\O#T$OO%.E&E" 'profile "[NAME] "# where /)A012 is the name of your
profile.

space# then 'profile# another space# and then your profile name. 'he profile name must also be in "uotes if the
name contains a space.
NOTE +ou might find it easier to enter the file path using the +rowse button in the Create Shortcut dialog bo%.
After na!igating through the path to the O6'7OO8.191 file# click O%# and the path is entered in the Type the
location of the item line# complete with "uotation marks. +ou then must click on that line to put your cursor at
the end of the file path# and type in a space# then 'profile# another space# and your profile name.

re"uired to be the same as the profile name.
