Is there growth in your average cart size? Compare metrics for non-promoted listings vs. listings with different promotion types. Consult with your account manager for more information.
Can you produce addtional targeted offers by price point, min spend, or product category?
Are you adding new inventory soon that you can highlight through a promotion?
Prep Work
• Do you run promotions on your website or in your retail store? If yes, copy these promotions onto your eBay account.
• What are retail standard promotions for your category? Research categories/products on your competitions’ websites (www.Macys.com, www.AutoZone.com, www.ToysRUs.com, etc.).
• Do you have an overstock of products you could run a promotion on?
• Is there new or seasonal inventory to promote?
Review with your account manager / take these next steps:
• Do you have products that are commonly purchased together or in bulk? If yes, create promotions with inventory that are sold together.
• Do your have products that can be shipped and packaged together?If yes, you can pass the shipping savings on to the buyers.
• Determine which promotions work best for Daily Deal items, Flash, and Billboard events.
• Do you have a promotional retail calendar? If not, which events (Cyber Mon., Mother’s Day, etc.) should you cover with promotions. Guidance on promo calendars found here.

the full year (or quarter) based off of retail calendar.
• Activate promotions for Daily Deal items, Flash events, and Billboard events.

Question AnswerWho can enroll in Promotions Manager? Any store subscription seller has access to Promotions Manager. If you do not have a store,
please contact your Account Manager
Who should use Promotions Manager? Every seller who has fixed price listings should use the tool. Please note that Auction, listings with the MAP listing tool enabled and “accepted” best offers are excluded from Promotions Manager.
How do I access Promotions Manager? Go to My eBay > Account > Marketing Tools > Manage Promotions.
Will creating and managing promotions on eBay improve my position in Best Match on the search results page?
Creating promotions on eBay will not directly give you an advantage in your listings search results rank; however, sales of all items with a special offer will count as a sale for each item's listing. As a result, the listing will automatically move up in rank in Best Match over time. Sales history is taken into account in the Best Match algorithm.
I use Markdown Manager; can I still use Promotions Manager?
Yes! Markdown manager is great for marking down single items and Promotions Manager is a great way to entice the buyer buy additional products or add-on’s. Please remember that if you use both tools that your listings will see discounts from each tool.
I use a 3rd party listing tool, can I use promotions manager?
Yes, however the tool must be managed through the site. We have not integrated the tool with 3rd party sites yet. If you use the API, we have an API call for related items. Please see the API FAQ for more information. For additional information on this API call please contact your account manager.
