Availability: Southern Yellow Pine is plentifully grown across the southern United States, making for easy access and widespread availability of this superior product. SYP thrives in the red clay soil of the South. Buying Eagle™ Outdoor Furniture supports this American product that’s environmentally friendly and good for local economies.

Strength: The incredible strength of SYP adds much value to Eagle™ Outdoor Furniture. Industry experts say the density of SYP makes it the strongest softwood structural lumber species. That strength translates into ideal load-bearing capacity and fastener-holding ability. High density also gives SYP natural impact and wear resistance. Although easy to work with, SYP stands up well to rough treatment. The strength of SYP also benefits our ecosystem by accomplishing more with less wood.

Beauty: Another characteristic which makes pressure-treated SYP a great component for Eagle™ Outdoor Furniture is its beautiful appearance. Left natural or stained, the wood grain pattern and golden color of SYP provides visual interest and a high quality look.

Ease of Treatment: Ease of treatment makes SYP particularly good for outdoor use. Your Eagle™ Outdoor Furniture can also readily be stained or painted, and with proper care, will last a lifetime! 2

Eagle™ Outdoor Furniture uses wood for all structural components. What are some of the benefits of using wood?

Wood is a natural, earth-friendly product. In the southern states, where the wood for Eagle™ Outdoor Furniture is harvested, tree farming is effective in preventing soil erosion. Thus, tree farming benefits our ecosystem by preserving top soil and reducing soil runoff into creeks and streams. Since wood grows naturally, it is earth-friend-ly, in contrast to man-made products. For example, plastic creates environmental hazards, both in its manufacture and also in its disposal.

Wood is a very renewable resource. Due to improved forest management, more wood is available now than 25 years ago. As long as we have sun and rain, we will never run out of wood!

Wood is user friendly. Wood can be sanded when scratched. If necessary, wood components can be replaced and easily matched.

Why Wood? Eagle

Eagle™ Outdoor Furniture is designed to be used safely for many years. Upper grades of lumber are selected for manufacturing. Most lumber is dried after treatment and resurfaced with rounded edges for safety, comfort, and ease of maintenance. Exterior paints or stains in the color of your choice may be applied. Metal parts are either rust-proof or plated to resist corrosion, and face screws are stainless steel.

With proper care, Eagle™ Outdoor Furniture will provide you with many years of backyard enjoyment!

1. Check that all bolts and screws are secure three weeks after furniture is installed. Continue to check regularly and secure as necessary thereafter.

2. Inspect regularly for broken or damaged pieces. Splintered surfaces should be sanded smooth to avoid danger of injury. Cracks resulting from weathering are normal; pieces developing those cracks do not need to be replaced. However, pieces with structural damage DO need to be replaced promptly.

3. Staining Instructions: A quality water sealer and/or stain can be applied per owner’s preference. For best results, apply sealer/stain within a month after furniture installation, following instructions on product label. If your furniture was purchased with a stain already ap-plied, it should be re-sealed within 2 years with a sealer/stain of your choice. When applying follow-up treatments, always follow instruc-tions on product label.
