Climbers' Concern  A party of eight mountain climbers had enough food for fifteen more days when they cameupon two more climbers in need of help. It seems that the two climbers lost their food whentheir rope broke. So, they joined the party of eight and continued on. The climbers decide thateach of them will use the same amount of food each day as they originally planned; however,they will have to cut their trip short because the food will run out sooner.

For how many more days do the climbers have food?

Fish Fun

Jim, Kim, Mim, and Tim all went fishing. They each caught one fish. They measured eachfish to the nearest inch and weighed them to the nearest pound. When they lined the fish upend to end, the fish stretched from one edge of the 6footlong table to the other. The fourfish weighed a total of 20 pounds.

• Tim's fish was the longest, and one of only two fish that were of equal weight.

• Jim's fish was 1 inch shorter than Tim's and 1 inch longer than Kim's.

• Kim's fish was the shortest and lightest. It weighed a full 2 pounds less than Mim's.

• The weight of Jim's fish and Tim's fish combined was the same as the cominedweight of Mim's fish and Kim's fish.

• The shortest fish was 1 foot, 5 inches long.

What was the weight (in pounds) and length (in inches) of each person's fish?
