A Message from the

Chamber CEO... Chamber to Co-Host Candidates Forum September 12th & 19th

This year, the Tracy Chamber of Commerce has decided to partner with the Tracy Press to co-host the Tracy Candidates’ Forums on September 12th at 6:30PM for City Council and September 19th at 6PM for Mayor both at Kimball High School. As a Chamber,

we feel it is our duty to inform the business community of the candidates who are running for political office in our City and encourage participation of our members in order to make their own decision on who to vote for this election. At the local level, we are fortunate to have several candidates who genuinely care about this City, and while each have their own personal views and ideas on politics, the fact of the matter is the power lies in the voters who live in Tracy and they will be deciding who will be our next elected officials.

Although the Chamber has decided against endorsing candidates, that does not mean we do not want to be involved in the process of disseminating information to the voters and most importantly, engaging the business community so they can elect candidates that are business friendly with positive motivations to support the business community. The Chamber’s Governmental Affairs committee recently sent out an email survey to chamber members asking them to submit business related questions they would like to ask the candidates during the upcoming political forums. As of today, the Chamber has received a good list of questions which we will be asked during the debate. It is important to understand each candidates own interpretation of being “business friendly” as well as hear what goals and objectives they have as it pertains to bringing jobs to Tracy.

If you are a member and live in Tracy, I encourage you to attend both of the upcoming candidate forums in order to hear all the perspectives and make your own decision based on your beliefs of who you will vote for. For those who cannot make the forums, Channel 26 will be airing the forums at a later date on Comcast. We hope you will join us and attend the Tracy Candidate Forums. Be involved in the process. Make your decision and most importantly, go out and vote. -Sofia Valenzuela, CEO, Tracy Chamber of Commerce

From Concept to Reality The Trinity Group, Inc., a Tracy based consulting firm and a subsidiary of Trinity Productions, is proud to announce the opening of the new Apple Store in Union Square in downtown San Francisco. Working with a global design team from London, England and locally with other San Francisco based engineering firms, The Trinity Group, Inc. provided design for all of the stores computer networks, voice, data, and wireless systems. Additionally, they provided all of the Security Camera Systems and Card Access Control / Security designs. Other systems included in the design work were background music and building fire alarm. The new store incorporated not only retail space but a significant area "back of house" for product storage, tech work and modifications to product. The project was built around the old Levi’s building shell in Union Square adjacent to the Hyatt Hotel , and almost completely gutted the old structure to make way for Apples new store theme and approach. The San Francisco Store is the current flag ship of Apple Retail. The Trinity Group may be contacted at 209-832-1293 or on the web at http://www.trinitygrp.com

BUSINESS QUOTE OF THE MONTH:

“If opportunity doesn’t knock, build a door!” - Milton Berle

Chest of Hope’s L.O.V.E Walk

In 2005, Chest Of Hope was founded by friends and volunteers as a small group dedicated to raising funds for orphans and women of domestic violence on a global level, however; The clear disparity between the growing numbers of domestic violence victims needing help and the limited programs available to assist them prompted Chest of Hope (COH) to expand its effort in 2012 to include direct crisis intervention services for individuals and families. The founder of Chest of Hope, Merlyn Pittman, is also a Certified Life Coach.

The Chest Of Hope Inc. is a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit Organization that provides advocacy, supportive services to all victims, and temporary housing to women and children overcoming domestic violence. In addition, Chest of Hope is a Safe-House for Sex Trafficking Victims which is an epidemic in our country. We are self –funded. You can donate at www.chestofhope.org. We would love to see you at our L.O.V.E. Walk this fall on October 1st. The 3rd Annual 5K Walk-A-Thon will take place from 8AM-3PM at Lincoln Park. Registration begins at 7AM and the fee is $20 . The walk begins at 8AM. After the walk, enjoy music, food and fun. For information on how to support Chest of Hope call (209) 831-7889.
