Logon to Oracle APEX Workspace

Click on Application Builder

Click on ‘Create’ icon

Select ‘Create from spreadsheet’. Click ‘Next’

Select ‘Copy and paste’. Click ‘Next’

Copy the data from spreadsheet and paste in the window

Select and copy the data from spreadsheet

Paste the copied data in APEX. Click ‘Next’

APEX will analyze the pasted data and will come up with table structure. You can edit it, if required

Specify the table name

The datatype will be selected automatically

Say ‘No’ to columns you don’t want to upload

Enter a singular name and plural name. Edit the labels

These labels will become column headings in report and field labels in forms

Singular name and plural name will be used in the application

Select the column for which data should be summarized in reports and

charts.

For this application we want to summarize the data on participant’s country. Click on ‘COUNTRY’

Enter the ‘Application Name’ and click ‘Next’.

Select theme which will define the look and feel of the application

Click ‘Create’ to create the application

Click ‘Run Application’ to see how does the application look like.

Enter workspace user name and password. Click ‘Login’. Notice the user interface.

For Editing or Deleting an existing Record

You can edit the record as required. Notice ‘Cancel’, ‘Delete’, ‘Apply Changes’, & ‘Next’ buttons.

‘Create’ a new record screen.

Singular Name used here

Plural Name used here

You can add a new record and click on ‘Create’ button to save the record. Click ‘cancel’ to discard your changes.

From main page click on ‘Analyze’ tab

Click ‘By Country’ under ‘Reports’ or ‘Charts’

Clicking on ‘By Country’ on ‘Reports’ will display a country wise report. Click under the ‘Charts’ will display the data in a pie-chart. All this without writing any single code
