CORE ACTIVITIES

Events

EEEGR de l i ve rs a comprehensive programme of events and networking opportunities for members and non-members. EEEGR events are business focussed, with high-quality, informat ive speakers, and offer opportunities to network with peers and build new business relationships.

Developing skills in the region

Skills for Energy is one of EEEGR’s core programmes. It focuses on delivering skilled people to the industry when they need them for long term careers and ensuring the existing workforce continues to meet the industry’s needs now and into the future. It is centred on addressing core skills needed across all energy sectors, both technical and commercial, which is achieved through a variety of collaborative partnerships.

Special Interest Groups

EEEGR hosts a number of Special Interest Groups (SIGs) which focus on specific areas of interest and expertise in the energy industry, through meetings focussing on presentations and interactive discussion. Our SIGs include:

• L a t e L i f e a n d Decommissioning (with partners Decom North Sea)

• Marine (with partner IMarEST)

• Offshore Wind Supply Chain

• Southern North Sea (SNS) Rejuvenation in association with partners the OGA and Oil and Gas UK.

Export opportunities

EEEGR attends a number of international shows and events, in order to promote the products and services that the region has to offer. We also work closely with the Department for International Trade (DIT) to support our members in the region who are looking to start exporting their products and services, and assist others in strengthening their export markets.

Tender and project opportunities

EEEGR works closely with major companies in the region to ensure that tender and project opportunities are transmitted to our members. We regularly run ‘Meet the Buyer’ sessions, at which companies with upcoming opportunities for work present to those attending the event, as well as information on how to tender for the work.

Lobbying

A large part of EEEGR’s work is helping to make links between policy-makers and our membership, ensuring the government understands the views of industry. To ensure the voice of businesses in the East is heard, EEEGR lobbies government on behalf of its members and organises networking events and round tables with government officials.

Who are EEEGR?

EEEGR’s mission is to be the source of new opportunities and knowledge to enable member companies to strategically grow their businesses.

The East of England Energy Group (EEEGR) is a not for profit, trade organisation, representing the interests of over 300 energy producers and the supply chain, including skills providers who support the industry. Established in 2001, EEEGR has been key in helping to form a collective voice for the industry in our region and articulating this nationally and internationally, to allow its members to be heard.

EEEGR is an ‘All Energy’ business development and skills organisation that works with many national trade organisations including Oil and Gas UK, Nuclear Industry Association, Renewable UK, UK Onshore Oil and Gas as well as sister organisations internationally. We constantly strive to identify new prospects for members to secure new opportunities to grow their businesses regionally, nationally and internationally.

EEEGR organises events, symposiums, conferences, networking sessions, exhibitions and industry social functions to stimulate the industry and to place buyers in front of relevant vendors.

Our Special Interest Groups (SIGs) operate across a range of subjects and markets and assist members to identify opportunities and recognise threats.
