INTRODUCTIONI have chosen to create a film magazine for my media studies project. I chose this genre to focus on because this is what interests me the most as well as to other people. The sub genres that are available in this category are adventure, comedy, drama , romance etc. The film industry has grown a lot over the years and so there's a lot to look into as there is a lot of wide range .

1.How does your product use orChallenge conventions and how does it represent social groups or Issues? The social groups that are represented in my chosen magazine i.e. Film are the readers that you’ll be expecting to see buy a genre magazine of their interest. However my magazine is a film magazine and my target audience age group would be 18-54 years old because now a days people take a lot of interest in film and TV. My magazine is especially designed for those who knows a lot about films and wants to keep updated in all the upcoming movies, celebrity interviews and what not. There is a lot of demand of film magazines now a days as I researched earlier. The film industry grown a lot over the years and so there is a lot to look into.

2. How does your product engage with audiences and how would it be distributed as a real media text?

Well I guess the reason why its good to have a target audience is because my audience will have something to look into of their interest. Something they would really enjoy to read and learn new stuff and this is what my magazine is all about. My age category is 18-54 years old, but its not like that those who are out of the age group are not meant to read the magazine. Earlier I posted a questionnaire on my blogs asking who would like to read a magazine whose genre is film and there was a lot of good response and I guess more than enough folks would like to see these type of magazines at stores and stuff. As mentioned earlier that a lot has been introduced over the years. People of my generation would enjoy this a lot.

3. How did your production skills develop throughout this project?

I learned and discovered a lot when working on this project. This whole experience was so cool. Not only did I learned about a genre but also a lot of other things- to be creative and all and to organize and represent your work to the audience in the best way possible. At the very beginning we made an account to show and tell people about our project. We made different posts on our blogs telling separately about our magazine development. Making a blog has been very useful. Later we researched about our project. Again, we learned a lot as we searched for my work that was to look for similar magazines as mine. Finally to create the project we used “Adobe Photoshop” as well as doing a photo shoot from a DSLR.

4. How did you integrate technologies-software , hardware and online in this project?

By using different hardware’s and software’s I’ve learnt to do things differently. Learned different and new things a lot which was really exciting when developing this project, it was really fun doing this as we learned new things in class and online. Discovered a lot on Google. I was able to do a similar research for my magazine and got a lot of new information related to my project which was of course really really helpful. I was able to gather a lot of information related to my genre.
