GP eConnect is a major collaborative project between Victoria University

and Westgate GP Network which delivers secure messaging and eHealth

data storage on an enterprise scale.

Effective project definition and scoping, resulting in a product with clearly

defined outcome benefits to intended target user base

Providing leading expertise in Development, Research, Design, Marketing

and Technical Support

The GP eConnect project aims to capture the interest of Medical Professionals

by offering an opportunity to integrate different medical information from

a variety of services allowing health practitioners to exchange opinions in

real time and allowing patients to benefit from integrated medical services.

Planning:

Initial stages of annual reports

involve the generating of themes

relevant to topics covered in the

report. This involves a collaborative

effort of staff so that the final

document is representative of the

division as a whole.

Design/Layout:

All articles are collected and then

relevant images are procured to

reflect the nature of these articles.

This stage is done through a series of

drafts to best position text, images

and assist in readability. This

process is done using Photoshop and

InDesign.

Publishing:

This process is done in-house. A

limited amount of first prints enables

editing and input from team

members to refine the final product.

Annual reports are distributed to GP’s and other health care professionals to communicate the ongoing developments and

achievements of the division.

This process is usually done on a

one-on-one basis between graphic

designer and program coordinator.

These products advertise

government or council initiatives,

therefore are required to be ‘eye-

catching’ to attract GP’s , patients

and the community at large.

Design/Layout:

Drafts are made in consultation with

program coordinator. Appropriate

graphics and colour schemes are

carefully considered to best convey

the message of the brochure. This

process is done using Photoshop,

FreeHand and InDesign.

Publishing:

This process is done in-house or out-

sourced. A limited amount of first

prints enables editing and input from

team members to refine the final

product.

Planning:

Articles are sent via email or fax and are evaluated according to their

size and priority before commencing layout. This is done independently.

Design/Layout:

Font, text, colour scheme and images are developed during this process

after appropriate layout is determined. A template is often used

to keep consistency and predictability of design to assist our regular

recipients of newsletters. This process is done using Photoshop, FreeHand

and InDesign.

Publishing:

This process is done in-houseutilising feedback from team members to

refine the final product.

Newsletters are communication tools between the division and GPs on the events and

achievements of those working in the division. It also keeps them informed of upcoming

Planning:

After establishing the target group,

posters are planned according

to the age and demographic

they are trying to reach. Posters,

websites and booklets are planned

in the same format to give them

a consistent style that is easily

identifiable.

Design/Layout:

Program officers have a great

amount of input to the design and

the role of the graphic designer is

to convey their expertise. Surveys

and market research are discussed

between program officer and

designer to generate the most

appropriate layout. This process is

done using Photoshop, FreeHand

InDesign and Dreamwaver.

Publishing:

Print layouts are sent to print

companies where price and quality

are negotiated.
