On Monday, May 18th the Session of First Presbyterian Church:

• Opened with prayer and devotion led by Pastor Timothy • Approved minutes from the April Stated Meeting and the April 24th Special

Meeting • Approved Communion on the church lawn for Sunday, June 7th at 6pm • Continued to observe and discuss the church’s response to Covid-19 • Approved the Return to In-person Worship Plan (entire policy available at the

church office – summary chart available in this newsletter) • Approved the Browder-Pinson wedding for January 16, 2021 • Received reports from each ministry team • Closed with prayer

The next session meeting will be Monday, June 15 at 6pm.

We will celebrate communion together on the church grounds. All social distancing rules apply (sit with your family, everyone must be 6 ft apart). We will

NOT have physical contact with one another outside of immediate family. Bring your own chairs, blankets, umbrella or tent for shade, and we will kick-off "Phase 2" of our "Return Plan" by celebrating the Lord's Supper together that evening. We will spread out on the church lawn, and Pastor Timothy will led us in a service of communion out-side. Please bring your own communion elements (bread and juice). In case of inclem-ent weather, communion will take place over Zoom similar to last month.

Offering – Please continue your generous response to God’s grace by giving financially even though we are not meeting in person. You can mail in your tithe or offering to the church office or call Sally at the church and arrange for a time to give it to her. This is a great time to explore our online giving options. Go to First Presbyterian’s website by vis-iting the Giving page at firstpcmonckscorner.org/giving/ or you can log in directly to Breeze at firstpresbymc.breezechms.com. Create an account or sign in.

Upper Room Devotionals are available for you under the church carport. They are in a plastic box for easy pickup.

Please familiarize yourself with the follow Session-approved plan. You can also watch the “COVID-19 Update” video on our YouTube Chan-nel – Google search: “First Presbyterian Church Moncks Corner YouTube.” In short, the big news is that we are moving to Phase 2 on Sunday, June 7. That means we begin opening the building the for small gather-ings such as Bible study, classes, and prayer. These will be scheduled through the church office, and of course, all social distancing rules ap-ply. Phase 2 also allows us to celebrate Communion on the Lawn at 6pm on Sunday, June 7. Bring your own chair, blanket, shade um-brella, and bring your own bread and juice. We will NOT have physical contact with one another outside of immediate family. I am so excited to be able to celebrate in person. In case of inclement weath-er, we will celebrate via Zoom. The Session will continue to monitor, and if/when there is a continued and consistent decease in new cases we have a tentative date of July for in-person worship.

Worship anytime, simply go to our Facebook page. Click on videos and every worship service is available!

Dear Loving Family at First Presbyterian Church, I would like to thank all those who thought of me and prayed for me during my extended recovery and rehab. So many cards and phone calls. I am so glad we reunited with First Presbyterian when we moved back into this area. I still have a ways to go, but I am on my way. Love you all, Connie Brinson Dear Helping Hands Committee: Sorry we have taken so long to acknowledge the wonderful and timely meal gift. Times are certainly such that our normal ways of doing things have been disrupted. Connie is doing much better and is at home and doing out-patient therapy. She has a way to go but is making progress. We used the money to get two delicious take-out meals at St. James Place in Goose Creek. Hopefully things will bet back to normal soon and we can again meet with our wonderful First Presbyterian friends. God is in control and all things happen in his time frame. Love you all, Bill and Connie Brinson Dearest Friends at the First Presbyterian Church of Moncks Corner, Y’all will never know how much the prayer quilt has meant to me. The pray-ers, calls, and cards have been appreciated. Y’all are such a wonderful church and I feel so blessed to know you. Much Love, Pam Watson Dear Church Family, Thank you so very much for the beautiful Peace Lily you sent in honor of our mother. Thank you, also, for the prayer chain support and pastoral support both during her illness and after the Angels came for her. Your love has been our blessing! Sincerely, Jay and Kelly Jackson Dear Church, Please accept our thank you for the love and support the congregation has given me and my family over the years. The Peace Lily at daddy’s funeral was lovely. First Presbyterian Choir of Moncks Corner will always hold a spe-cial place in our hearts. With Love, Julie (The family of Jayson Jordan)

We extend Christian Sympathy to Carole Edwards and her family. Carole’s mother, Maxine Tompkins Edwards, passed away on Wednesday, April 29. Christian sympathy is also extended to the family of Jerry Grooms. Jerry passed away on Wednesday, May 13.
