It is my honor to serve the communies that CRHM reaches. The experiences gained in the military, owning a couple of successful business, being in the healthcare profession, working as an execuve in both educaon and healthcare, and serving a missionary for many years, have prepared me to lead CRHM to unforeseen heights. Growing up in a ny, rural Arkansas town gave me an enormous sense of community. My family always served my hometown. Having spent many years in China, that sense of community was somewhat lost. I am so thankful to have regained that sense of community and to serve here at Cross Road. Fortunately, the communies of interior Alaska have Cross Road Health Ministries to provide excellent healthcare services. As a Chrisan organizaon, it is our duty to stand in the gap for our communies’ healthcare needs. To stand in the gap is much like what mortar does for a brick wall, it holds it together, making the wall strong. We help make those we serve strong, thus standing in the gap by connually keeping those we serve in prayer and by providing accessible and quality healthcare. We strive to provide you with excellent care! We are reminded in Scripture that whatever we do, do it as unto the Lord. Cross Road Health Ministries is pursuing new and innovave services to beer stand in the gap for those we serve. We ask for your prayers as we seek more ways to share the love of the Lord Jesus Christ as we heal the sick and preach the Gospel. It truly is an honor to serve you and your family. In Christ, Bill Whington, CEO II Tim. 1:7 "For God hath not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind." Welcome Page Herring, PA CRMC is excited to announce that Page Herring, PA has joined the CRMC team. She’s been working with us since April, and we are excited she has now officially joined the team. Why did Page decide to make the leap and become a CRHM employee? “Hands down the best nursing staff I have ever worked with! Very welcoming community with lots of interesng stories.” Page came to us with forty years of healthcare experience, five of it as a provider. Before that she was an independent midwife for 30 years. If you ask her, she will tell you that the most fulfilling aspect of being a provider is helping people achieve their health goals. Not only is she helping the people of Alaska, Page also spends a good deal of her me on medical missions to other areas of the world. Her last medical mission was in beauful Belize! She enjoyed helping the wonderful people who are dedicated to preserving their country and maintaining their health. What’s next for Page? She’s already had a lot of interesng Alaskan adventures, including surfing the bore de, and next up she’s looking for her ideal airplane – at the right price, of course. In House Billing Team Cross Road Health Ministries wants to thank our patients inside and outside this area for their understanding and pa-tience. It’s been a hectic transition as we brought our billing in house October 1st, 2018. After 2 full days of airline trav-el, 4056 miles 1 way, jet lag, hurricane watch, and 7 days away from home, we can officially say the billing team can handle all your concerns in this area. In September our billing manager Myla Spring, together with our billing special-ists Gret Olson, Christy Holmes, and Lyuda Makarenko spent a week in Birmingham Alabama for an intense training with Fishers Consulting. After many years of billing being outsource, a few hiccups, tears and victories the billing team along with Win Stiefel are tackling all of the accounts and making wonderful steps forward to finalize patient accounts so we can get back to a normal routine.

Cross Road Health Ministries will continue to ensure that we will work to the best of our ability to serve you better. We are thankful for the support from each and everyone and we look forward to continue working with you all!

God bless! The billing team

We are thankful to the Board of Cross Road Health Ministries who made it possible for full time staff to use up two weeks a year for ministry of the employee’s choice. Six team members from Alaska, including five employees of CRHM traveled to Kiri-bati via Fiji. Clinics were held on three islands, and the group (joined by local health workers, and a local doctor and nurse) were able to reach more than eight hundred patients with His grace. We distributed eye glasses from the Lions Club, provided medical care, diabetic and HTN screening and education, as well as addressed many other health concerns. We are thankful to our coworkers for keeping us in their prayers and for supporting us in many different ways.

Terry Holmes joined CRHM on August 15 as our Facility Maintenance Director. He comes to us with over 20 years of mainte-nance and management experience, more recently as a welder/pipefitter. He brings to the maintenance department large industrial boiler and chiller installation, hydronic heating and cooling systems, gas and water systems experience.

Terry had the opportunity to work with a couple of work groups since joining the team. The volunteers have helped with everything from grounds keeping and vehicle maintenance up to and including building a structure over the sprinkler room, re-roofing housing, painting, and many other miscellaneous projects. Terry says, “The work groups were awesome to have around, getting the chance to get to know other ministry-minded people from various parts of the country. Having them here is always fun as well as a huge blessing getting ready for winter. Having such a broad base of knowledge and skills to work with combined with the fact that they come not only willing, but WANTING very much to help is extremely refreshing.”

Thank you to our work group volunteers, including Robert Katsur, Gerald Knight, the Mayer Family (Jimmy, Kris, & Melody), Ken Miller & grandsons Ben & Isaac, Dave Musser, Aaron Neal, Sam Vanderjagt, and the Hartland Baptist Work team!

If you and your group/church are interested in spending time in beautiful Alaska, using your gifts to assist the Cross Road Health Ministries team, please contact us at [email protected]. We would love to talk to you!

Compassion. That (human) disposition that fuels acts of kindness and mercy. Compassion, a form of love, is aroused within us when we are confronted with those who suffer or are vulnerable. Compassion often produces action to alleviate the suffering, but sometimes geographical distances or lack of means prevent people from acting upon their

compassionate feelings. Compassion is not a uniquely Christian response to suffering (cf. Exod. 2:6; Luke 10:33), even though Christians have unique reasons for nurturing their compassionate dispositions. EDBT, p109, Knowles, Andrew
