Organizing coaching classes for competitive exams
Under the UGC scheme for minority students, programs like
coaching classes for UGC/NET/JRF Examinations, Remedial
Coaching and coaching for Competitive exams are given to the
students.
Departments in their own capacity conduct classes for PSC
examination and other competitive exams.
Motivational classes are given on a regular basis by each department.
Skill development (spoken English, computer literacy, etc.,)
English department gives communication skill development classes
for the first year students of the College.
Computer literacy is given to all the students of the College by the
respective department.
Training on power point presentation is given to all the third year
degree students to help them for their project presentation
Each department has different short term courses (For example :
Fish Hatchery - Aquaculture department, Numerical Analysis -
Mathematics department etc..) to provide special skills in their
respective fields.

Bridge courses in the beginning of the academic year allow slow

Every year students bring out a College magazine with the support of an
eminent staff member. Financial assistance is given for the preparation of

A Widows’ meet was organized and more than four hundred widows were
given a one day training in different possible activities such as vegetable
carving, flower arrangement, painting etc.
The Skill Development Centre of the college along with its NSS unit has
imparted training to the general public in many of the above areas. The
involvement of students in skill development programme apart from training
also forms a platform for them to develop their leadership qualities and to
improve their entrepreneurial skills. It helps them to be socially committed and
responsible citizens.

The college aims for an integral growth of every student and inculcates social
responsibility among the students.
The students are trained / coached for competitions at district, state as well as
national level competitions by appropriate resource persons accompanied by

Students actively involved in the above mentioned activities are given extra
internal examinations in case of their absence. Uniforms are provided for all
the players, either by Sponsorship or by PTA/Alumni/College.

5.1.8 What type of counseling services are made available to the students
(academic, personal, career, psycho-social etc.)
Mentoring Cell – Academic and Personnel counseling services are
provided by the Mentors for each student. According to the need, trained
teachers are made available for personal counseling.
Home Visits – Psycho social counseling are provided for selected
students from the College. Tutors identify the students and a team of
teachers visit their home for getting necessary information and also for
further support.
Learning Space - is an academic reform in which faculty members are
available after the class hours to clear the doubt of students.
Career Counseling - Career and Placement Cell prepares the students
through Finishing School and also conduct classes on Career options.
Health and Hygiene – Classes on Health and Hygiene is usually given
to all the NSS volunteers and NCC cadets.
First AID Training - Training on First AID and necessary supportive
methods are given to students.
Medical Counseling - Every second and fourth Wednesday a doctor
from the nearby hospital comes for giving counseling on issues related
to health for students.
Yoga Training - Training is provided to selected students for improving
their concentration and lifestyle.

Old students regularly visit the departments and also share valuable experiences
with the students about higher education and employment. Finishing School is
an institutional program which provides training on Mannerism, Etiquettes,
Body Language, Image Management, Communication Skills, Dress Code etc.. to
students.
The Career Counseling Cell guides aspiring students. The Placement Cell helps
the student to be better placed according to his/her caliber. Research centres of
the College boosts the desire of the students to attain higher education.

During the Stake holders meetings, PTA meetings, Alumni Meetings and Class
Visits by the Academic Audit Team feedback is taken.
The Data collected is analyzed by the Data Analysis Committee and the report is
presented before the Governing Body.
Student Support Systems are regularly monitored and service quality is improved
by considering the feedback taken from stake holders.
